Random: Why does my iPhone change "Randoms" to stuff like "Ransom"?
Weekend Plans: DD's birthday party is tomorrow. It feels surreal because all we do is show up and take pictures. That's it. The tea party place does everything else. I'm kind of sad about that.
FFFC: I judge people who wear sandals that don't fit. There was a woman at the airport yesterday who had two toes of each foot hanging off the outside edge of her sandals. I could not look away. Seriously, folks, if your whole foot does not rest on the shoe, it doesn't fit you!
mommyatty, we call those does cliff hangers. I do not understand anyone who does that. Your toes shouldn't even be very close to the edge, you should have a little "frame" of sandal around them.
Random: My coworker hasn't shown up to work today and I'm not sure whether I should text to see if everything is okay. (She has a recent cancer diagnosis and some days just can't get going. But today is much, much later than normal). I don't want her to feel like I'm coddling her.
Weekend plans: Driving out the the armpit of the world to see my inlaws. It's only supposed to be in the 80's here. Doesn't everyone want weather well into the 100's? One of my besties who moved away a few years ago is going to be in town on Sunday, so I'm excited to meet up with her and her family even if it's only for a few hours.
FFFC: Yesterday I managed to cut both thumbs trying to unscrew the razor that DH over tightened. Today, I'm rocking an Elsa bandaid on each finger. Classy.
Random: We tried to get NFL preseason tickets today. They sold out within seconds. To third party resellers. There are tickets everywhere online except on Ticketmaster, which sucks, because we have a massive Ticketmaster gift card to use up. I don't want to purchase tickets with real money when we have this gift card hanging around, but I really want to go to the game!
Weekend plans: Play date tomorrow with some extended family. The girls have 3rd cousins that are also identical twins and only a year older! It's going to be awesome! Then the kids and DH head out on Sunday for camp, so I have the entire day to myself. In my head, I plan to finish a couple quilts that are almost done. In reality, I will probably clean and binge on TV.
H took DD to my IL's yesterday five hours away and spent the night, so it was just me and the baby. I cleaned the first floor of the house. Today I did the second floor.
Tonight I'm going out with neighbor ladies to celebrate someone's birthday. If H is home in time the baby will stay home with him; if not, the baby will be my stowaway.
We will be without DD this week and are both on summer break, so no work. We've got a list of fun things to do all week.
We are going to visit friends at their beach house on a nice part of the Jersey shore. They have a baby the same age as DS2 and another couple we are friends with are also coming in from CA.
Just landed in Newark and waiting for DH to get the rental car. Both boys were ok, not great, on the plane.

Weekend plans: friends of our's will be visiting, so we'll go out with them tomorrow. Then hopefully the pool and a nice long family bike ride on Sunday since DS can now ride his bike.
Random: I really hate it when my mom calls me to complain about their marital problems. It's always the same problem - she is an extrovert who loves to socialize and my Dad is the quintessential introvert who wants to just stay home. I don't understand why after 5 decades, they can't figure out that one of them should just go out while the other stays home. You do not have to always go out together!!!!!!
I have a quilting class tomorrow that I'm super excited for. I printed a black and white version of it this morning and spent lunch coloring it in with crayons to decide how I want to do it. I'm obsessed ya'll. But coloring was fun and relaxing.
My H is picking up my cake tomorrow; it's an ice cream cake with yellow cake, cheesecake ice cream, and oreos and raspberry sauce mixed in. So the plan for the weekend is to stuff myself with cake and sew.
Random--I got an Amazon Dot for the kitchen, with a cute little penguin to hold it. I already don't know how I lived without it.

Weekend Plans: Tonight we have nothing. I'm hoping for a relax night at home while DS plays outside. DH is going to attempt to put DD to bed for the first time in her 4 months of life since she has transitioned to her crib perfectly. The perfect transition will mean this won't go very well I'm sure but we need to at least try. Tomorrow is another rummage sale day. I'm hoping for the same outcome as last Saturday. Not sure what we'll do tomorrow night. Another relaxing night hopefully! Sunday DH works. My mom is going to come watch DD while I take DS to do something fun. He wants to go to the toy store and get a fire truck. The fire truck he's talking about though is $400. When I told him it was too much money he went and got his play money out of his toy cash register lol. He is adamant about going to the toy store though. I'd prefer to take him swimming but there is a high of 79 on Sunday so we probably won't do that.

Oh here's my random. One of my brother's client's called in wanting our fax number to send his numbers in for the year. Here is part of our conversation.
Me: He will need a signature so would you like for him to mail, email, or fax the signature page? Client: Whatever is easiest. Me: Okay, does he have your email address then? Client: I don't have email. Me: Okay, what is your fax number? Client: I don't have a fax machine.

sudokufan, twinmomma, there is a coldstone 45 minutes from me and my mom lives 5 minutes from there. She also gets my brother and our spouses a cake in a flavor of our choice for our birthdays. A coldstone cake will be mine this year for sure!
I am laughing at this but can see where on another day it would have made me homicidal.
DH remarked this morning "it's been really easy to get ready for vacation this year".
Yes, because I held the mail, arranged the dog sitter, packed all of us, cleaned the house, changed the time the maid arrives, got all the beach gear packed, packed all the games and toys, bought and wrapped the car surprises, bought and packaged the car snacks, put gas in the car, picked up the roof box, bought a new DVD player, procured the bike lock combination, organized the beach and pool passes, got the code to the door to the house, stayed up until midnight finding a hotel in Jackson, made a grocery list for our arrival, planned the menu, washed out the cooler, did all the laundry so we come home with and to clean clothes, bought Dramamine for the kids and restocked the emesis bags in the car, located an Apple charger for every person in our family and packed it, downloaded Amazon and Netflix movies for the kids and adults in case the wifi sucks, washed your hat, took DD to the doctor for her ear infection twice, worked a full week and have been up until midnight every night this week and up at 6 to start work.
But yeah, it was really easy.
No, I didn't buy you new sunblock. Use the existing sunblock.
And no, it's not evidence that it was easy that one night I drank with my neighborhood friends until midnight while DD babysat DS or that I took DS to play one night.
And no, your work week at the client isn't the same thing. (He got home late last night).
Thankfully, I'm just excited about vaca, or he might be dead.

Truth. This is pretty much me getting ready for our vacation next week.
Although H did help me clean the house and he arranged the place to stay (sort of failed miserably, but that is another story). I did all the laundry and packing and unpacking.

FFFC: I went to the gym today during lunch for over an hour. It has been a quiet day, my boss is not here, and I definitely already put in my 40 hours and then some this week.
Weekend plans: Not much. Just got to start getting stuff ready for DD's birthday party the following weekend like going to see a cake decorator and nagging H to put her new bike together.
My plan for tomorrow is to get ready for floors this week then dinner at moms. My niece and nephews are coming for 3 weeks.
Sunday may be a throwdown with mom. Everytime the kids come in, she throws herself into a tizzy and totally flips out halfway through because she over does it. This time she has declared that there will be birthday parties the next 3 Sundays. Is it any of their birthday? No. Can we not do 1 party? According to her no. Can I have 1 at my house. Nope, I said have 1 party. Plus, on my Dds birthday, she asked if the kids could come over. They don't need a sitter so Dd thought she wanted to hang out with her. She made them mow grass because it would be good for them. She told Dd to suck it up because people had to work on their birthday. It hurt Dds feelings because she thought she wanted to do something special. Now she wonders why the cousins get a special party on not even their birthday. Plus, I don't need her building character with my kids with chores. They have plenty to do at home. My 35 yr old brother lives with her and is perfectly capable of mowing grass.
Randoms: 1) I worked really really hard on a Powtoon this week and the outcome was better than I ever imagined it would be. I even sent it to my parents and sisters so they could see it. My old coworker's loved it too. I am looking forward to showing my H so he can see it too.
FFFC: I wish there was a service like housecleaning, only biweekly car cleaning that didn't require me leaving the house. And couch scrubbing. My tan leather couch really needs it.
Plans: Nothing other than 2 cookouts, one is with my old college friends and their families.
I survived the work week and it's been hell. I've got a crap ton of work to do come Monday but right now I'm just relaxing.
FFC I'm annoyed no one asked me about my sister coming into town with her two dogs. We are staying at my parents house weekend home while we finish building our house. There will be 5 dogs, 6 adults, & 1 toddler in the house tomorrow and it's going to suck. For some reason I feel like I should have been told. My sister is only coming for the day at least.

I made it through the last 2.5 weeks of DH traveling. I do not know how those of you who have traveling spouses do it! I am in awe. DS2 was sick Monday and DS 1 was sick today. FIL retired last week so I begged him to come watch DS1 today.
Saturday is farmer's market and checking out the new Orangetheory studio opening in town. My bff from hs is coming into town. We're planning on dinner and I'm very excited about that!
Sunday is errands and getting ready for the week. One more week until we go on vacation!

Random from this week that I should have posted in open letters: a colleague and I were meeting sitting members of a local nonprofit board. They are looking for new board members. Colleague made this connection through work and we work in banking. They invited us to lunch on Tuesdays. Please tell me why my colleague shows up in shorts, a superhero t-shirt, and backwards baseball cap?! He saw no issue with representing himself or the company in this way bc 'it was my day off.' I was so mad!

Well I don't think my kids would be going over there anymore without me. That is awful and hurtful.

Today my friend and her son are coming to hang at the new house. She's the kind of friend who can ignore unhung pictures and boxes laying around. Best kind! Her son is DD's age. He is in love with her. It is not mutual. He is also her polar opposite. Love them! Probably we will go swimming at some point.
Tomorrow is a birthday party for a school friend. I HAVE to go because it will be her chance to catch up. But her dad texted me "hey sorry for the late notice but the birthday party will be Sunday at 1:45 at the skating rink." That was almost 2 weeks ago. So of course we went last week and no one was there. He even said "late notice" and did not say "next Sunday" or anything like that. What was I supposed to think?
Somehow I'd like to work in a movie with DD and working on my murder box with DH but I don't know if we'll have time for all that. I want to take DD to see Captain underpants because we read the book also minions and Spiderman, but we've been busy and broke and haven't really had a chance to do any of that. So I guess we'll see what there is time for.

They have already made that decision. They don't want to go over to "visit" and I will let her know exactly why next time she wants them.
