Yes I have 1.5 years to plan but where would you go if you had 4 nights for your 10 year anniversary? Or where did you go? I like to plan things early to start saving the money we will need! I might be able to squeeze 5 nights but H will be 3 so could be a lot of work for our older parents.
We've casually mentioned Boston and New Orleans. I'd love somewhere further like Hawaii or Europe but idk if we can justify a 6+ hour flight for 4 nights.
We did Hawaii for our 10 year and Paris for our 5 year. I think Europe is definitely doable and fun for a shorter trip, especially if you go somewhere you can fly directly and maybe just do one city (Paris, London, Rome, etc). If you want to stick to the US, are you looking for more relaxing or more sightseeing? I of course love Boston but keep in mind that in April/may it can still be freezing (and snow!)
I personally would go to San Francisco and Napa, and try and get a reservation at French Laundry for our anniversary meal.
Do you want beach or city or tourist attractions or a combo?
I would totally do Europe with 4 days. Can you get a direct flight to somewhere?
Puerto Rico?
Cuba?
Idk about Nola, my husband has just never been so I thought it could be fun! We have direct flights to London, Frankfurt, Munich, and Reyjknovik in Europe but that's it.
I'm not sure what we want to do. Probably tourist attractions and city and less beach just because we did beach for our 5 year.
I would probably go to London. It's a lot of fun. Germany and Iceland are apt to be cold but pretty at that time of year. I guess that depends on how you like the cold, my H does not do cold so he'd complain the entire time even if it was really cool.
I like a lot of the suggestions: Boston, Nola, Nashville. We went to Puerto Rico this spring and enjoyed it. We did a lot of beach and not a lot of touristy stuff....but there was plenty non-beach stuff you could do there. We did it pretty inexpensively as well and it was a direct flight from here

It's a great time of year for Nola and I am happy to answer any questions or help in any way. Jazz Fest is always the last weekend of April and 1st weekend of May. It is an awesome event, but there are lots of other festivals and things to do that time of year. Keep in mind that prices and availability (hotels & restaurants) may be affected those two weekends so plan accordingly. I would definitely consider wine country, London, a cruise or maybe something in the Carolinas. I love the historic side and restaurants in Charleston and there are many beachy areas easily accessible like Pawley's and Kiawah.

Just to throw something else into the mix. Amsterdam is a fun city, lots of museums and the Keukenhof tulip gardens are open in April. There's also the Heineken brewery.
