It's raining, which is good because it broke a gross heat wave we were stuck in BUT also sucks because I have both kids today and rain means being stuck inside.
Went to the zoo yesterday and the kids had a great time. When H saw the tiger he got down on all 4s and started crawling around meowing lol
H woke up gagging this morning but all that's coming up is frothy goop. So he might be sick idk. It's his birthday Thursday so he better get better quick! At least we have no plans today so we'll just stay home and see.
We went up to a friend's cabin without the kids for the weekend and it was glorious. We actually got to talk to our friends without having a small child interrupt us every 4 minutes and got to indulge in lots of adult beverages! However, the mosquitos were relentless! They bit my butt through the canvas camp chairs! Also, now MH is back on his kick that we need to get a cabin... so the whole drive home he was scrolling through real estate to find us one. We'll see. I wouldn't mind having a cabin, but I think they are more work than he thinks.
Colt got some bug bites yesterday when we were outside, but this morning when he woke up, his left eyelid is swollen. You can't see it real well in this picture, but I'm trying to decide if I should take him to the dr, or if I should just hold off and see how it is Tomorrow. I don't really know what they could do for it though.
Yikes, poor bud blane12. E gets huge welts when he gets bug bites too, but none on his face like that. My Grama always used meat tenderizer or baking soda paste to help with itching and swelling and it does work.

The kids and I went to visit my sister this weekend. On the way home, I opened the trunk and found a snake trying to hitchhike! It wasn't dangerous, but I'm glad it was in the trunk and not near the boys while I was driving down the interstate.
I would not have been able to get back into the car after that puppylove64 (I'm a super big wimp about snakes though).
I had a coworker who had to go to India for work, and rather than renting a car she had a driver and a car. The driver would sit outside the building and wait for her all day. At the end of her trip she asked if he got bored sitting all day. He opened a basket sitting on the front seat - he was a snake charmer!

omg!!! Non venomous snakes don't bother me too bad, it startled me of course....but knowingly having something deadly next to you is cray cray! I have a healthy respect for deadly animals 😳
Dh said that is a "$60k (not really) snake" cause he won't ever get back in it! He wouldn't even take my car last night to pick up dinner, and he usually hates driving his truck on the weekends!
puppylove64 - omg - I would lose my shit. I just cannot do ANY snakes! I'm glad you guys found it before you left - I'm just imagining it slithering around you guys while driving.
I love summer and I know the fall is going to be crazy busy but I am kind of wishing it away! I am so excited for M to start school. I have a crazy schedule during the school year because I work in the school district and take classes at night and do basically nothing in the summer but it's kind of boring. I'm sure once fall starts I'll wonder what I was thinking.
blane12, Henry got bitten in the same place a few weeks ago. It looked AWFUL for 48 hours, but we kept dosing with benedryl and it eventually went down. This was at urgent care getting checked out about an hour after the first dose of benedryl...

I'm finally feeling better after 2 weeks of suffering through a severe cold. I have been lazy today but need to get stuff done- being induced on Sunday night.
blane12 - poor little guy! I hope the Benadryl helps!
nannerl - I'm tired just thinking about your whirlwind move! Will your DH's company pay for packers?
I thought my bad luck streak was continuing today after the driver next to me in a double turn lane decided to go straight. I managed to swerve and avoid them, but I was still shaking when I picked up G from school. Ahhh!
nannerl - poor baby!! His swelled a bit more during the day (before Benadryl) but wasn't quite as bad as Henry's. Urgent care just said to keep using Benadryl I'm assuming??
My kids are driving me fucking bonkers today! The whining gah I am about to lose my shit. And V is teething or sick or both and was up practically all night. The only good thing is they start a week of gymnastics camp today from 11:30-3:30. It's going to be amazing. I can NOT wait for preschool and kindergarten to start.
I am counting down the days until kindergarten starts! Less than 3 weeks! My kids are both super sweet when they're not together all day lol.
I just realized H is almost 2 and doesn't have a pillow in his bed. I found a pillow but no spare pillowcases that he could ruin, so I had to order one. A bright red Cars pillowcase because I guess there aren't many options for buying them without sheets.

Yep! She said just to keep an eye on it and if it wasn't better in 48 hours to come back in. She recommended benedryl for the swelling as well as ice packs if needed.

Ugh this kid NEVER sits still - no way he would tolerate an ice pack. Lol. Hopefully it will look a little better tomorrow!
