Do you use a salt spray in your regular hair product rotation? At what step in your hair routine do you use it and how much do you apply?
I bought a salt spray after my stylist used one on me a few appointments ago, and even though I bought the same spray, I think I'm doing this wrong. My hair is crunchy and doesn't feel great when I use it. I also bought a "salt free" salt spray that says it doesn't make hair crunchy, but yet...it still does.

calico, I don't use one (I have curls) but any time I use too much of a product of almost any sort, it becomes crunchy. I'm guessing you are pumping too much into your hair.
I use them, and have a few I like. The John Frieda, Not Your Mother's and Bumble and Bumble (my favorite).
I never liked them until my stylist told me to use them when my hair is almost dry. I used to use them when it was wet and then scrunch... now I wait till my hair is like 80% dry and lightly spray and scrunch. Or I'll use it as a finishing spray when I use my curling wand.
mrsukyankee, you might be right. I have no idea how much or how little my stylist used and I very well could have put way to much, or used it at the wrong time (too wet).
I use B&B surf spray. It does sound like you are using too much. You don't need much. I will sometimes use it on wet hair but it's definitely better on damp-ish. Then I twist up in a clip for a half hour or hour and shake out.
I can't use it daily because it dries my hair out. I need at least two washes between use.
