Last week was a big ol' fail for me. But now I have new running shoes, so I'm hoping to get some good workouts in this week. I'll need to take the weekend off, though, because I'm getting a new tattoo on Friday.
Nutrition: H and I are trying to get back into meal planning. We've gotten way too lazy, and we're working on getting our diets back under control. We haven't built our meal plan for this week yet, but H is off today so we're going to make a list and he'll handle the grocery shopping.
Mental/Spiritual: I've been very up and down. TTC has kind of taken over my brain, and not in a good way. I need to stop making excuses and start finding 30 minutes each day to focus on taking care of myself.
This week: Nutrition: -keep up what I've been doing. Smaller portions, less snacking and keeping track of what I eat.
Fitness: M: lower body and core, HIIT workout T: upper body, cardio W: I may attempt a yoga video again T: lower body, core F: upper body, cardio S: run or HIIT workout S: rest
Mental: - keep up trying to be positive about myself, try not to talk myself down.
My eating is getting better, I've been making sure that I have fruit if I need something sweet and having healthier snacks for when I get hungry but want something quick.
I did all my work outs last week which is awesome. (I did change the days I did some of them though)
This week: M-strength T-run 2miles W- strength, dragon boating Th-run 3 mikes F-strength Sat- run 3 miles Sun- rest
katespade- shoes make all the difference. (Especially for running) DH hasn't been able to run because of his bad knees, but I've been bugging him to get proper running shoes and see if that helps. It's $$$ but worth it if he can run again. He bought some shoes and he's run a little bit and he hasn't been in much pain when running. (The only pain is from his knees being unstable, as he forgot his knee brace.) before the shoes he couldn't run even with the brace on.
awick14 - I'm sad that I ruined my old pair of shoes during the mud run, because they were wonderful. I ended up finding a new pair at the Nike outlet for less than $60, though, and I'm hoping I'll like them just as much. They're less bulky and much lighter than my old pair, which were Reebok.
Last week I actually did really well. I did a pilates class once, a yoga class on tv with my husband, and then just my own thing one night. We've been subscribing to meal boxes so that also facilitated much healthier eating.
Hoping I can keep this up, but even if only the healthy eating sticks that would still be a drastic improvement.
katespadeawick14wineandcheese You ladies are all on fire. Way to be awesome. I can't believe how much you're doing each week! I'm over here like "I chose hummus instead of a cookie, huzzah!" lol.
katespade- when I did the 2 tough mudder races. I used older shoes to do them. (As I knew they would wreck my shoes.) my plan is to use the shoes that I have until I do a mud run or something similar next spring. (I'm looking at the, individuals, spartan races) After that race is done I will get new shoes. By then I will need new shoes anyways as mine are getting worn out. If they wear out before then I will keep them and still use them for the race, and just train with both my old ones and the new ones.
amaranth- thanx. I feel like I could be doing more, but that's just me not being positive about myself. The nurse that does the baby talk group I go to on Monday's also told me today that I am doing great by making it out to the gym before I went today.
And hummus is always a good option, even if it's with chips... lol
awick14 - Yeah, my shoes were getting old and needed to be replaced anyway, but I was sad to see them go.
If I do another mud run (or any other type of messy run) I'll probably just go buy some cheap sneakers at Marshall's or something. I don't need fancy shoes for those kinds of events. Haha.
katespade- I much prefer Nike over Reebok so I hope you end up loving your new shoes! I switched to lightweight running shoes sometime around 2007 and I will never go back to a standard running shoe (I used to run in shoe called Newton, but they were very specialized and up and coming at the time I switched. I love them but they are SO expensive, like $125-175/pair. I used to have connections and get them for $100. I need new shoes badly, just haven't pulled the trigger because money is so tight).
I did great getting lots of walks and steps last week (3 days were 20k or more days!). I had 14k yesterday and am hoping to have another active week! I am mostly eating healthy but can always do better.

I'm focusing on taking care of myself mentally/emotionally. I am an emotional eater and I have been eating badly but i'm ok with it right now....as long as I don't let it go on indefinitely. I'm trying to get my steps in (been doing good the last few days) but next week I will probably look at getting back on track with eating.
AW ahead: I'm down 11lbs for July! I'm actually proud of myself. I've noticed my double chin is a little smaller and my shirts are hanging a little loose.
I have to AW DH too. I bought him a size 38 pair of shorts yesterday at Old Navy since they were $2. He was able to button them! They were tight still but he hasn't been a size 38 since we started dating.
