3. I have a bunch of non profits set up on monthly auto contributions. The last cause I made a special contribution to was the International Rescue Committee (targeted at the refugee crisis).

1. I don't remember my first CD but I vividly remember buying one of my first cassettes which was Bonnie Tyler, Faster Than the Speed of Night. 1983. I do remember getting my first CD player in 1991 so it may have been something to replace a favorite cassette.
2. This one is tough. I was a huge fan of Sixteen Candles but for movies that came out when I was in HS, Pretty Woman and Misery were at the top of my list.
1. I think it was some sort of "Best of the 70s" mix. My parents basically just bought me all the music they liked, so I had weird taste for a while there. 2. Moulin Rouge - many a night were spent sobbing over the love story of Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. Swoon! 3. St. Jude's
1. Can't remember my first CD, but my first Album was Chart Action '83 - compilation of the big hits of 1983. Most notably, "Come On Eileen" by Dexy's Midnight Runners. Yep. I'm old.
2. Tie - Heathers and The Breakfast Club. Followed closely by Hoosiers.
3. A neuroblastoma foundation set up by my cousin in memory of his 3 year old son, run through a huge cancer hospital here locally. Theyve raised almost $100k since he passed 2 years ago. We funnel the majority of our giving to their foundation.

1. I think it was Bush - Sixteen Stone. I was in a brief grunge/alternative phase. (ETA: I do remember the first cassette I owned. My sister and I pooled our allowance money to buy New Kids on the Block's Hangin' Tough album. And we waffled between getting the vinyl record or the cassette, but decided to spend more on the cassette because I was known to break record needles.)
2. I'm going to go with 10 Things I Hate About You. And/or She's All That, because Freddie Prinze, Jr.
3. I have a few organizations I contribute to monthly.
twinmomma , I feel you on the all the tears cried over Moulin Rouge. I watched that move a lot when it came out on DVD, but that was college for me, so I couldn't count it for #2.

Covergirl82, ah yes! She's All That! I went on a date to see that movie. Before if started, the guy I went with said "Now when that song plays (referring to "Kiss Me"), try to resist."
Covergirl82, DH and I were angsty high school sweethearts, so we spent a lot of time listening to the soundtrack and comparing our relationship and "struggles" to those of Christian and Satine. 2 angsty high schoolers = poet and whore in Paris, obviously. Thankfully I did not die of tuberculosis.
2. Favorite that came out in high school, probably pirates of the Caribbean. My parents didn't believe in re watching movies so I don't think I had a favorite movie.
3. I donate to the red cross, because even if I can't donate money I can donate blood. I try to donate blood at least twice a year. I went through 6 units of blood having my son it's important to me. Outside of that I have a few causes that I donate to. One of them was just under investigation for fraud and they have a new CEO. I like their cause, but now I don't trust them so I am not sure what is next.
I will donate to the police and fire department. I also donate to my local schools. Sometimes it is money sometimes it is supplies and as my son gets older I will donate my time.(something I don't have a lot of right now)
I try and teach my kids that money isn't everything. Sometimes it is more important to be out and doing something. Before DS I used to do habitat for humanity.
twinmomma, I'm glad that TB is much less common nowadays. Back when I had time to think about these kinds of things, I always wondered about Christian getting TB, because I thought it was/is highly contagious. And you have to give yourself some credit, because Satine was a courtesan.
1. It was a cassette, Poison, Look What the Cat Dragged In. I was in a hair metal stage through most of middle and high school and had the concert stubs and big hair to prove it.
2. Dirty Dancing
3. St. Judes in honor of an acquaintance's daughter.
1. C+C Music Factory. I still remember all the dances we made up to it.
2. SLC Punk. I still question it. And pieces of it are still relevant.
3. JW House. It's our local version of the Ronald McDonald House. Our neighbor's daughter spent a month in a sedated coma and they stayed with her at JW, at which point we started donating to them pretty frequently. It was never even on our radar that we'd end up relying on their services. Or that we'll be there again.

1. John Berry, a 90's country singer.
2. Mr Holland's Opus
3. Each paycheck, I have money taken out and donated to Planned Parenthood, the Arthritis Foundation and the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention.
2. I had a 4 year old sister when I entered high school...Lion King, 101 Dalmatians (live action), Mulan. We also got DISH around this time and never had cable before that so anything and everything became interesting.
3. I just took some stuff to St. Vincent and have some stuff to take to Teen Challenge (resale store that is non-profit and at risk or homeless teens benefit from it with jobs and resources). Other than that it was DD's school read-a-thon.

1. Green Day? 2. We were really into Mean Girls at some point but I think that was in college. 3. Work has been having fund raisers to raise money for the holiday party.
1. In first grade, my brother bought me the Disco Duck album. The first I chose was New Kids on the Block. Again not a CD. Lol. I'm elderly. 2. Sixteen Candles was up there. 3. I bought candy from some kids raising money for their DARE basketball team. And gave to a friend doing the American Heart Assn walk.
1. Jeez, beats me. Probably a Styx album. Or Barry Manilow.
2. Nothing sticks out too strongly (I mean, it's been 20 years. More, even.) Dead Poets Society...I remember memorizing Puck's farewell speech because of that movie.
3. Dropped off items for the canned food drive at DC just yesterday.
1. I have no idea. I think my first cassette was Thriller (I was in early elementary school).
2. Ferris Bueller's Day Off. My BF and I watched is sooooooooo many times. I bet I could still recite most of it word for word.
3. Local conservation league and humane society (donated on the same day). I need to donate to the food bank. They lost tons of food due to a malfunctioning refrigerator.

1. First CD was C+C Music Factory. First one I bought for myself was Metallica's Black album. First cassettes were a birthday gift - Richard Marx and Tiffany.
2. I can't even remember what movies were around when I was in HS. Men in Black maybe? She's all that (and all similar movies) were also favorites.
3. A local nature center was going to have to shut down its wildlife rehabilitation program so I donated money to that. It's still going! (<- not only because of my donation obviously!)
