I have been slacking on my reading and want to get back into it. I am also 4 books behind on my reading challenge after being 4 ahead in April. Suggest some of your favorite books you've read recently (doesn't have to be a new book).
I am reading The Hate U Give and I cannot put it down.
I read "Into the Water" last month and really liked it. It's by the same author of "Girl on the Train" but I think I might have liked it better. It's not the greatest book in the world but I think it's a good book to kind of jumpstart your reading, because it's fast and enjoyable and people are talking about it.

I just recently read and loved Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk by Kathleen Rooney. It was about an 84 year old woman who walks around New York City on New Year's and reminisces about her life. I really enjoyed it and if you are from or know NYC at all it's makes it a little more fun if you know the areas she's in.
I mostly read fiction, but in the mood for anything. I read a lot of thriller type books and wouldn't mind branching out a bit lol. I also love historical fictions and my fair share of romance/chick-lit books too.

Sadly I haven't read a lot of great, noteworthy reads lately. Big Little Lies was pretty good, it's a quick read (and then you can watch the show/vice versa). The Handmaid's Tale was worth a read (again another show). I haven't read "Murder on the Orientent Express" yet, but I plan too soon. They're making that one into a movie (my vice here).
My husband just finished Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King and liked it. I guess it's a trillogy.
Books I've enjoyed recently: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter The Memory of Us by Camille Di Maio

Fiction/Suspense
The Couple Next Door
Allegedly by Tiffany Jackson
Summer Sisters (Judy Blume)
Anything by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Historical Fiction/Sci Fi
Kindred by Octavia Butler
Maus (Graphic novel about the holocaust, interesting and so different)
Lisa Unger is a great suspense author, especially to reenergize your reading. Easy page turners.
Can't go wrong with Nora Roberts for a quick read ;-)
I've been really enjoying/savoring Tana French's books, they take longer than the 2 above but are great.
I also enjoyed the meandering storyline of "June" by Miranda Beverly-Wittemore. It reminded me a bit of a Sarah Addison Allen, which is another good author with delicious books.
