puppy book - English Labrador Retriever

Hello,

Our family is about to get cuter!  

We just put a deposit down for an English Labrador Retriever puppy.  Mom is due to deliver next Saturday.  The pups should be weened by the end of September/early October.  

Are there any puppy books you recommend specific to retrievers?

dglvrk2,Hi and congratulations! I am a huge dog lover but have an extra special soft spot for labs in particular.
This book is not specific to retrievers, but I'd highly recommend it. Our obedience instructor swears by it and we still refer to it for our 1 year old.

I'd also recommend finding a puppy kindergarten type class for you to attend as soon as possible. I've found classes are more for the humans than the dogs, haha. But they're invaluable in my opinion and most also have a time for puppy playtime at the end which is great to do around an instructor so they can help you intervene when needed if any type of unacceptable play erupts. I really admire our trainer's philosophy so including a link to her website which has a resources page for other books and videos. Our pup has had some medical challenges to deal with this first year so we are just getting back into this stuff at 1 year old.
