We have kindergarden open house tonight. L says he doesn't want to go ☹️ We probably need to do some school shopping this weekend. Ss moves in Sunday.
And I need to decide if I'm going to let L play flag football. He says he wants to, but he chickens out and never plays any other sports. We pretty much have to drag him to the field and he stands there and won't do anything. He promises every season that he wants to play and won't do this, then same story. I don't know what to do. Let him have chance to play and waste my money or make him sit it out and maybe grow up some? This season SS and C will both be doing sports, so it will be hectic and L might be odd ball out.
In Boston for Claire's ENT appointment. My girls are great at waiting but even they are starting to go crazy after 45 minutes in this tiny exam room. Cross your fingers the doctor comes in soon!
Just went to the park and its only 78 bit it's a really humid so we only lasted an hour lol. The kids and I have become heat/humidity wimps since living here. We're at the library now instead.
I took a sick day yesterday. I literally felt like my head was in a vice. I've never felt that way before. Head still hurts a little, but I'm feeling so much better.
It was nice to lay on the couch while my husband wrangled kids for bedtime. 99% of the time, I am doing all the work and he sits on the couch.
Oh and Colt finally pooped on the potty!!! When we started, he would do it no problem, but lately he's been scared or nervous or something. He takes us back there 85 times claiming he has to go, but then won't and usually poops in his underwear. I was so proud of him. I hope this continues because he's slowly driving me insane with 457775467 trips to the potty.
sunshineluv you can do it! the very hardest part of whole 30 is the alcohol. It was a real struggle for me but I felt pretty proud to have done it. I'm thinking of doing it again in September because I've been drinking so much delicious beer this summer. August is out though because well, it's almost august and my fridge is full of beer lol.
I finally had my allergist appointment yesterday. It took a long time. First they did the needle pricks all over my skin, then they did six injections to further test. Then I had the breathing test.
anyway it turns out I am highly allergic to various tree pollens (shocker) and mildly allergic to both cats and dogs
He also said I have asthma based on the breathing test.
Ooooh that sucks about the allergies laurack at least you have some answers?
yeah its good to know. He did the further injection test because he said he really wanted to make sure it was not a dust allergy because with that you have to do a bunch of things in the house. So, I'm good with dust!
I was more allergic to cats than dogs so the answer is clear. In 10-15 years when this cat kicks the bucket, no more cats! lol
Loco Coco I have an inhaler anyway because in the month of May it got so bad I was waking up in a panic most nights because I couldn't breathe. I haven't used it since that period though, but I told the doc that I felt I was getting out of breath really quickly when mountain biking (everyone else chatting and I am out of breath ..) he said for now just use the inhaler before strenuous exercise and come back in 2 months.
There is a daily medicine but for now he said the inhaler is fine but if I need to use it when not exercising, they'd want to consider a daily medicine.
I'm going to start keeping the bedroom door closed all the time because I know the cat goes and sits on the bed. It makes me sad because he's the sweetest snuggliest cat.. he loves being petted and getting belly rubs.

Jealous! Lol. It's 103 here. Although we have like 10% humidity. Still, it feels like an oven.
Yeah, I don't go outside when it's 103 anymore lol. I remember doing soccer camp as a kid when it was 100-110 degrees almost every year, I don't know how I survived that

LOL, that's the worst part! I mean the food part takes a lot of work, but I am not overly hungry, I just need wine in my life!
Did you weigh yourself during it? I like the idea of waiting 30 days (and the FB group makes you feel like you are going to hell if you step on a scale) but I kind of want to!
Also, any lasting changes after you finished? I am hoping it makes us better about cooking at home, and eating clean more often (but I am not sure I can keep buying $10 bacon, lol)

Maybe a fancy air purifier for your bedroom will help?

I can't remember if I did weigh or not ... but I broke a couple rules for sure like i ate our a couple times and got a grilled chicken salad and didn't ask what oil was used for the chicken ... and i think half way through I just started using regular bacon because the paler stuff shrunk down so much and was twice the price ... it had 0g sugar per serving despite there being some sugar for curing so it just seemed silly!
I felt good after and continued eating more healthfully for a while but slowly slipped off the wagon. My scales is broken so I have not checked my weight in a while but I can tell I'm a little fluffier from the beer. But, I think it's probably a matter of 5lbs and doing a September whole 30 would take care of it ...
