Anyone have any experience with an egg allergy? I am worried that T might be allergic. He says that his cheeks and head get itchy. It started with plain eggs but has been happening more often with things like french toast. We ate out every day of our vacation and it started happening much more. I plan to get him tested as soon as possible, but he has been on Zyrtec for seasonal allergies all summer and you have to be off of all allergy meds for 2 weeks first. We stopped the Zyrtec a few days ago. The pediatrician does a blood test and then will recommend an allergist from there if needed.
I am at a loss as to what to feed him in the meantime. He is a very picky eater. Breakfast is the biggest challenge because he usually ate eggs, french toast, waffles, or pancakes. All of those have eggs baked into them.
How about fruit with peanut butter? Cottage cheese?
No experience with an egg allergy personally, but a friend of mine has a mild egg allergy--mostly with raw eggs. She can't have mayo, and she and her kids have reactions to some vaccines.
Luke has a serious anaphylactic egg allergy but my mom has a sensitivity to egg I make pancakes and waffles with bisquick and milk and Greek yogurt instead of egg. They are good! It's hard to find packaged products for breakfast. Some kids can tolerate baked eggs like cake but those need to be cooked 350* for 30 min so cookies pancakes muffins don't count

I didn't realize things that to be baked for at least 30 minutes so it makes sense that he seemed to react to a meatball and pancakes.
I definitely will try that pancake recipe! He loves pancakes. I guess I am going to have to get creative with substitutions.

W had a very mild skin reaction to eggs until about 3 and it is the only food that he absolutely has an aversion to even now. Some egg free suggestions are oatmeal, grits, cereal, breakfast bars, fruit and yogurt (the black Oikos has a lot of protein). W also can make a meal out of just bacon and sausage. Good luck with tbe testing.
