Confession...I don't do anything. Never have really but it's even worse now with kids and a busy DH. It's just not high on my priority list right...if I have time I tend to sit and relax or go for a walk.
luv2rn4fun - I'm the same way, but I'm trying to change. I've been trying out some new products that I really like so far, but the cost seems outrageous to me. I'm hoping to get an idea of what other people consider reasonable so I can decide if it's actually outrageous or if I'm just cheap. lol.
Right now my routine is pretty simple (but way more than I've done in the past): Morning - face wash, day cream Night - face wash, night cream
The day cream is like a moisturizer and the night cream feels more like a mask. I've only been using them for a few days so I definitely don't see a difference yet, but it seems like I can already feel a difference. My face is so soft!

Morning: face wash, exfoliate, moisturizer and lip scrub
Night: face wash, face serum, moisturizer and lip treatment. About 3 times a week I do a mask or sheet mask.
I usually use whatever I get in my boxycharm or ipsy bag. I'm stocked up sample sized of products from ipsy. I just joined a sheet mask subscription service so hopefully that works out.

I don't do much. I wash with either a cream cleanser (the Yes to Carrots one) or an exfoliating one (just got a new one.. same brand that makes the apricot one but this is like grapefruit or something. I'm blanking, haha). I use a cheap-ish Ponds lotion most of the time but sometimes Neutragena with SPF. At night I tend to be lazy but when I actually do something, I use a face wipe (Target brand) and coconut oil. I only use the oil at night so it can soak in.
I also rarely use much makeup so I'm mostly just wiping dirt/sweat off my face at night and not worrying about wiping makeup off.
I used to have a much more expensive lineup of products, but I happened upon some cheap ones that work great! FYI I have regular to dry skin.
1: Wash face in shower using Nutrogena Natural moisturizing facewash
2: Neutrogena naturals daytime moisturizer
3: If I'll be outside I put on a layer of Korean dry touch sunblock (yeah I know you're supposed to do this always, but I don't)
4: Bare Minerals tinted primer with spf 30
5: Makeup
6: At night I wash with the same cleanser, then use Palmer's cocoa butter night cream. I never expected it to be a good product but it's amazing! My skin has legit never looked better. Also, it somehow managed to work for summer and winter.
I'm in my early 30s, and starting to see fine lines. plus I have some uneven skin tone, acne scarring, melasma leftover from my last pregnancy. just blah and dull skin. my skin is combination and dehydrated. I love moisture, but I hate heaviness on my skin. I basically don't wear sunscreen nearly as often as I should because I hate the way most sunscreens feel. I rarely get breakouts, and when I do, it's because I'm stressed or not taking care of my face.
I started following the big skincare thread on the makeup board a couple months ago. many of the ladies there raved about this newer product line called The Ordinary, and there's a big thread just on that. bonus: it's cheap cheap cheap. but from what I'm googling, there is real science behind these products, and the beauty bloggers love them. I got like 5 products for $50! so here is my routine:
AM wash with Cerave foaming face wash, or splash with water The Ordinary "Buffet" serum The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid serum Origins Ginzing moisturizer (LOVE this stuff--so lightweight yet moisturizing!)--this is the single most expensive item on my list, $23.50 at Ulta. Biore Aqua Rich watery essence spf 50 (have to get on Amazon and it takes like 2 months to ship. I buy 2 at a time, and order when I'm opening my last tube. this is a really lightweight, nice sunscreen).
PM wipe with makeup remover wipes wash with Cerave foaming cleanser alternating days: The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid serum on the alternate days I don't do the Lactic Acid, here is where I do The Ordinary Azelaic Acid 10% Suspension. I LOVE this stuff! it dries down matte and smooth and makes my face feel so good. Origins Ginzing Moisturizer
I haven't even been doing this routine a month and I've noticed a huge difference in the texture and feel of my skin. my mom said she could tell a difference after just one week. I'm hoping for smaller pores as time goes on.
the acids are all AHAs, which are safe in pregnancy. I'm avoiding BHAs and retinoids right now, but after I'm done having kids, I plan to add retinoids back into my routine.
ETA: it sounds like a lot, but it really only takes 5 minutes morning and night. the morning takes just a little longer, because I wait for the moisturizer to soak before applying sunscreen, then wait for sunscreen to dry down completely before I put on makeup. I do other things while I'm waiting for these to dry--put in contacts, take morning medications, make my coffee, do my hair, etc.
pooh8402 - I've been looking at The Ordinary, but their website is completely overwhelming me! I don't know anything about skincare or acids or serums or what works and what doesn't, but I also hate my face and I want to make it less awful. lol.

That's why I asked the board! I also googled a lot.
