We are close to the path of totality (about 30-40 minutes off) so the eclipse is a huge deal where I live. They've been talking about eclipse tourists on the news and have been worrying/preparing for increased traffic. It's also the middle of fire season and they're concerned about the increased number of campers potentially causing fires.
I took off the day to view it with my girls, but I don't know where we'll go. I feel like 99.5% totality (our local ski resort) is good enough. I do not feel like spending all day trying to get back from one of the areas that is in totality.
Thanks to this thread, I ordered NASA approved eclipse glasses for everyone in the family and took the day off. Kids don't start school until later that week, so I can experience it with them.
ETA- I think we are in the 75% coverage area. Good enough for me.
