Our group leader is stepping down, and I'm considering stepping up. I'd like to get some ideas of what other groups are doing, because I feel like we could be doing more.
I think I need to join a more active one. I only joined recently, but it's mostly people just posting articles, no organizing. It's a small community, but I'm only 45 minutes outside of Boston and 30 minutes from other major cities.
My groups are all in the process of restructuring. A lot of smaller groups are combining into a handful of much larger ones. The primary focus is theoretically going to be precinct organizing, as well as making sure there are no uncontested seats in our smaller local elections.

For my county, I feel like that is what the DCC should be doing. I just want to make sure we're filling a hole, and not duplicating what other groups are already doing.

My DCC is useless. Truly and utterly useless. A bunch of us are joining the various county parties to push it and work from within, but they aren't going to do anything unless we do all the work and hand it to them on a silver platter.
Our other focus is voter suppression. We are pushing for the state to change our voting machines to provide a paper trail, and fighting back against closing precincts. I spent Saturday canvassing with the NAACP and ACLU collecting signatures for a petition to reopen polling locations.

one the big things our Indivisible group is doing is, along with the leaders of other progressive groups in our area, organizing and communication responsibilities and goals so we don't overlap and we also pick up the slack if something isn't being done.
our group also sends out weekly action alerts about town halls and communication with our reps WRT pending legislation/government structuring. they've also started sending out info about local issues (most notably the dubious issuance of building permits for a natural gas processing plant).
