Fruit filling in cupcakes

I'm planning on baking cupcakes for a friends party, but they want them filled. If I do a strawberry jam filling is it ok to fill them and frost them 24hrs before the party? I'm nervous about them getting mushy.
Tips and tricks? gastro

Assuming they are stored in a cool, dry place they should be fine. I would be sparing with the jam. A good buttercream frosting will be fine for twenty four hours.

I would totally do a test batch, but I need them Saturday. I suppose I still could, but that's a lot of cupcakes in one week.

I've done marshmallow filled and it does change the inside of the cupcake a bit when it sits. No one complained; they were still delicious!

ETA: whoops, didn't realize this was from last week.  How did they turn out, dizzycooks ?
