DS starts full-day junior kindergarten on Sept. 8 (he goes to meet the teacher on Sept. 5). He's in preschool now at the same school he'll be attending for JK, so I'm really hoping for a relatively seamless transition.
His school supplies list includes indoor shoes, outdoor shoes, and a box of Kleenex. We went shopping for his shoes this past weekend so we're all set. As usual my DH kept showing him these nice, light, super comfy running shoes but DS vetoed anything that didn't have characters (and preferably that also lights up).
He also got a new Spiderman backpack with matching lunch bag and water bottle, which he's very excited about. I, however, am less than excited about having to pack a lunch and snacks for him every day.
Emotionally I feel o.k., I think mostly because he's been in preschool for the last year. I really, really hope I don't cry when DH and I drop him off for his first day, though.
She is not ready but I am!! I need the routine!! We ordered supplies through the PTO. She has a new outfit for the 1st day and new tennis shoes. That's really all she needs but once it gets cooler (or IF, ðŸ˜) she will need leggings and a jacket.
Kinder was amazing for her. Can't wait to see how she grows in 1st! I'm eager to find out who her teacher is. I'm also hoping she won't be in a class with either of her besties. We find all that out next Wednesday!
B: 6th - 1st year of middle school....ahhh Luke: 3rd
Nope, I am not at all ready. We need everything: Supplies, clothes/sports gear, shoes, backpack, lunch boxes, hair cuts. Honestly, the only thing I have ready is child care. ((((sigh))))
I have a plan though: Hair cuts are being scheduled for next week. The 20th is start of tax free week here so I plan to grab shoes and a couple outfits/tops each and DS2 backpack, lunch boxes for both and Sports gear (cleats for Luke, shin guards/black shorts for B and extra socks for both). Brayden's Sax is being delivered on the 17th. Supplies will be purchased after we get the lists.
I actually do most of my School clothes shopping after school starts toward the middle to end of Sept. There are more fall options out, and everything is on sale/cheaper by waiting a few weeks. Plus the first month of school they are mostly in summer clothes anyway.
Emotionally, I am ok. A little worried about B starting MS and dealing with 4 Core teachers now but just taking one day at a time. Luke is MY BABY!! Just wondering how he got so big

Drew goes back Sept 6, the girls go back Sept 7.
Julia: 5th grade (middle school!!!!!) Emma: 3rd grade Drew: PreK
We went and got what supplies we could yesterday. Some of Emma's will be teacher specific, and teacher assignments will be mailed on the 21st, so those items willl have to wait until we find out who she has.
Emotionally I'm so very ready. Summer is too long and we all need to get back to a school year routine, with me getting ample alone time. The girls have done a bunch of camps and Drew did camp at his school, but my lower amount of time to exercise and get errands run is killing me lol!
DS1 started first grade. DS2 started preschool 4 half days a week.
All school materials provided by school so we don't need to buy any school supplies.
I'm loving having a few hours to myself finally after six years! We've been talking about a third and I really don't know if I can go back to baby again.
When do you head back to school? Tuesday after Labor Day for dd1 (full day K), Thursday after for dd2 (prek two half days)
Are you ready (school supplies, new clothes/shoes, emotionally)? I think so. We have supplies and a backpack. I'll be ok I think. She does need some clothes, but I'm waiting until fall bc I want the stuff to fit all winter.
When do you head back to school? - I head back Tuesday for a few days here and there (meetings), staff retreat Aug 22-24, then workshop starting the 28th. DS starts K (Cries) on the 30th.
What grade will your kid(s) be in? DS- K DD- PreK
Are you ready (school supplies, new clothes/shoes, emotionally)? nope, nope and a big fat nope.
auroraloo what did you decide for k? ACC was on the table right? I assume you went elsewhere bc of the house. Also, are you sad you won't have prek for dd through the school?

When do you head back to school? What grade will your kid(s) be in? DD: Aug 30, 2nd grade DS: Sept 10? I think? Pre-k
Are you ready (school supplies, new clothes/shoes, emotionally)? Emotionally, yes. I'm glad we still have a few weeks of summer left, but everyone in our house does better with a routine. I cannot believe DD will be in 2nd grade, though.
As for the rest, nope. I'll sit down with the supply list and order what I can off Amazon. I need to inspect DD's backpack and lunchbox...I think they are showing their years. I don't usually clothes shop untill ater in September or October, because it stays hot for a while, but I think one of the grandmas wants to take DD shopping, so she'll get a few new things for the first weeks of school.

ACC was pretty much off the table after I talked to you
He's going to local school for the new house. A friend is doing before/after school care for us and the bus will pick him up from there.
I am sad, but the new district offers preK as well. We are considering starting her in K next year though, so that's why the preK program when we move. If she excels, we'll test her for early K. If not, she'll either go to full-day preK at the local school, or stay at the church-based one she's starting in January.
I go back to work 9/5 for 2 conference days. Kiddos start 9/7.
DS- 4th grade and DD- 2nd grade. DS will have 2 teachers, change for PE, etc. Big steps for a kiddo who still needs his little sister to occasionally stop in his classroom to find out info for me LOL.
We have some back to school stuff! One of the local photographers we like is doing Urban Back to School Mini Sessions somewhere downtown so I that will be fun to have a first day of school outfit and new backpacks for!
I have the school supplies, we can buy them in May as a school fundraiser, so thankfully that's done. I still need to do shoes, clothes, backpacks, lunch kits.
DD1: 3rd! DS: 1st DD2: 4K at preschool (just 3-4 mornings/week) DD3: at home
Are you ready (school supplies, new clothes/shoes, emotionally)? I love summer vacation. I was never ready to see it end as a kid and am still not now! We are loving sleeping in (my kids will sleep late) and have been doing lots of fun things. So, emotionally, no, although it probably will be good for all of us to get back to some routine even if we don't want to. Really not looking forward to getting everyone up and ready for school, and driving around to all kinds of fall activities.
Clothes-wise, we are pretty good for now. I need to do an inventory with the kids but they are fine for the start of the year.
I bought most of the school supplies this week. DD1 has a new backpack that she loves, and DS will use his from last year. It's still in great shape.
The girls go back on 9.6. I don't know what day preschool starts, the week after that I think.
The girls will be in 3rd & 1st and jack will start preschool, 3 days a week 9-1.
We are mostly ready, a few pairs of shoes and a few dresses needed. Other supplies are ready. I am mostly ready emotionally - I love summer so it's never long enough for me but I am also looking forward to the first time EVER that I will have all of my kids in school at the same time.
Are you ready (school supplies, new clothes/shoes, emotionally)?
When do you head back to school? Dd starts on August 21st.
What grade will your kid be in? 1st grade. How is that possible?!
Are you ready? We got a few new clothing items to round out what she already had plus some new shoes. We haven't received a list yet so we haven't gotten any supplies. Emotionally, I'm okay but it's so crazy to see how much she has grown and changed. The staff at her after school care noticed it at the end of K. When she started there last summer she would cry at drop off or randomly thoroughout the day. Now she's welcoming the new kids and showing them the ropes!
