Podcasts for Students

We are going to be asking our 8th grade Humanities students to create a podcast. We want to expose them to (many!) podcasts, to get familiar with the medium as well as to analyze different techniques that make them more/less compelling. Many of the podcasts I have listened to (Serial, S-town for example) are not appropriate for 8th graders. Do you have podcasts you use with kids or recommend for their effectiveness?

I've never used it, but my colleague has used RadioLab before.

I do a podcast project with my seniors in HS, and I have, in the past, had them listen to clips from different episodes of This American Life. However, 12th graders are obviously very different from 8th graders, and we already cover a lot of mature content in this class, so I am not AS concerned about that when picking a podcast.
