We made it to the weekend! Any fun plans?

H is off today! We are still deciding what to do today. Tonight is our friend's birthday bon fire. Luckily it's in our backyard so no driving. I'm trying a new dip recipe tonight. Hopefully it's good.

H is working, so I'll be having a pretty quiet weekend. Other than the gym, the only plan I have is an hour long massage tomorrow (I bought a Groupon a while ago, so it doesn't count against my spending freeze. LOL).

Today staying home and doing blissfully nothing (ie: cleaning, tv, junk food...)

Tomorrow is MIL's birthday party. I'm thrilled, as you may guess...

Super boring weekend here, DH is working today, he's there now and then has to go back tonight so that killed the opportunity to do anything together. I'm catching up on some work and hanging with R. Tomorrow we have church and tons of cleaning before family comes into town. I feel like this weekend is the calm before the storm....next week has the potential to be crazy.

DH and our contractor poured the concrete for our countertops (well, one side of the kitchen anyway) this morning! So excited!

I was supposed to go to a LLR party, but it's an hour drive there and an hour drive home. And my laziness has won out.

I'm "working" on school stuff now.

I've never heard of concrete counters. Do you seal them so they don't stain? What color are they?

We had them in our old house (the previous owners spent about $50k updating the kitchen). They didn't seal them properly and they were very high maintenance/stained quite a bit. I liked them at first but came to hate them the last couple years we lived there.

DH has been working on a project. I had plans to take C to the park while L napped and my Dad and their dog decided to join us- it was a nice surprise!

C is napping and L will be soon. Not sure what we are doing after naps. Hopefully getting out of the house. We didn't get out much yesterday and have been home a lot today...I am pretty bored.

No plans the rest of the weekend except taking C to the park again tomorrow morning.

Yes, you seal them. And I'm keeping them their natural gray color, but they can be dyed any color you want! They're what Chip and Joanna Gaines (Fixer Upper) have in their kitchen.

We went to the county fair today! I haven't been to this one since I used to bring my 4H projects After dinner we're going to visit H's friend and meet their baby (he's probably 4-5 months I think). Tomorrow going to the Crayola Factory!

Went to my nephew's bday party today. Tomorrow we will go to church and probably grocery shop. Woohoo.

I've been thinking about starting a blog. I don't know that anyone would read it, but I also feel like it might be more for me than for anyone else. I've been doing a lot more writing lately as I've been processing my thoughts and experiences, and I wonder if I would be nice to have a place that's devoted to posting those thought processes. I like being able to look back and see my progress through what I've shared.

katespade I did that a long time ago and it did help. It felt like I was talking to someone even though I wasn't. No one followed it and I doubt anyone read it, which was probably a good thing, lol.

We have had a nice weekend so far. We met my grandpa for breakfast, then J and I went to the library and a farmer's market (where I picked up super cute LLR leggings. Love the TC2 size!). Then I went to Panera and caught up on a course I'm behind in, and then we went out to dinner with the neighbors and played outside for a bit.

Tomorrow I am cleaning, catching up on volunteer work, and taking J to my mom's company picnic. Fire fighters are coming, and the kids get to explore the trucks. He will be thrilled!

We had such a great time at the bon fire last night. Our friend is hosting an exchange student and she got to go quad riding for the first time. She had a blast.

We are suppose to go to the winery in an hour but a guy from the fire house just stop by and they are looking at lights for the rescue so my H is in a "vortex" as I call it lol. Later we are going to another friend's house for party. I'm hoping not to be there too late since I didn't get enough sleep last night.

We found a screw in D's mouth, and being 2, we couldn't get a straight story whether he swallowed another one or not. So we're at the children's ER just to be safe. He's already had his xray, just waiting on results.

I wasn't scared. Neither DH nor I believed him. But we had to be responsible and get the xray, because if he had, it would have been so bad!

We were more annoyed.
