H and I started a new workout program last week and it is kicking my ass. It's a 14 week program, and I think I might die. lol.
I've decided to adjust my yoga expectations, so I'm only going to plan to do it on work days and give myself weekends off. I'm also throwing in a little bit of cardio every day. Usually 10 minutes to warm up, do my workout, then 10 minutes to cool down.
AW - I'm really proud of myself. On Saturday I saw some serious progress with my cardio - 2:30 warm up walk, 10:00 run, 5:00 walk, 7:30 run, 2:30 walk, 2:30 run, 5:00 cool down walk. Being able to run for 10 minutes without stopping is a HUGE accomplishment for me.
For this week: Mon - Yoga, Push Hypertrophy Tue - Yoga, Pull Hypertrophy Wed - Yoga, Rest/Cardio? Thu - Yoga, Leg Strength Fri - Push Strength Sat - Pull Strength Sun - Rest/Cardio?
Last week was a bust for me H&F wise. The weekend was 1/2 bad decisions and half good decisions. I didn't workout besides stretching. I did limit my alcohol intake. H was surprised by that since usually when with fire house friends I drink more then I should. Actually I was the only sober one Saturday night.
It's a new day and a new week! I'm going to write out my workout plan this afternoon since I didn't get to do it a few days ago. I did get asked if I lost weight by a friend who I haven't seen in a few weeks. That made me happy.
I really want to start running more. Right now I can hardly run at all😫I need to build that back up to a few miles again. I'm just terrified to run on the road since it's a busy road. My treadmill is in our bedroom so I'm scared that I'm going to wake H up if I use it early in the morning.

I wanted to have a really good week with eating since I know this week won't be great (birthday cake!!) and I am doing really well. I weigh in on Tuesdays so I'll see for sure tomorrow. I've also been doing pretty well with my steps. I did my pilates video one night last week, but my attempts to jump start my exercising have generally been kicked to the curb. Too tired/busy
My goal for the upcoming week is to maintain my weight and get my steps in!
HoneySpider - You have a lot going on right now! I don't blame you at all for being too tired or too busy. Healthy eating is a great foundation for healthy living, even if you can't get the exercise in right now.
HoneySpider- I am with you...just focusing on eating healthy and getting my steps in. Anything else is bonus. Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow! You look great!
suzv- good luck sticking to your meal plan! Even little changes really do make a difference!
I did great with my steps last week and nutrition was ok (but could have been better). There were a couple days that I had to walk after the boys bedtime to get my steps in and I made sure to reach 10k or more every day! I want to do the same this week. I also meal planned and am making decently healthy meals that will be used for lunches and dinners. And I am trying to not spend so much of my fun money so trips to Starbucks, Yogurtland, and Dunkin' Donuts will be limited this week, which should help.
wanderingenough - I thought of you this morning, because I did a really fantastic restorative yoga workout with a lot of stretching. Bonus: It's only 20 minutes, including shavasana. youtu.be/6dd8kFHT1f0
I didn't post yesterday, but I did my Friday workout. Added some yoga in this morning, and did today's workout, too.
It's amazing that I'm only two weeks into this new program and I'm already starting to see changes in my body. H said it's called beginner gains. lol. He's also made it clear that he's a big fan of what leg days are doing for my butt/thighs. 😂
