The Book of the Unnamed Midwife, by Meg Elison

I just finished it two nights ago, and MAN it is brutal, and haunting, and so very good. It's sort of The Stand mixed with The Handmaid's Tale, mixed with The Road. With a little Walking Dead, we're all gonna die thrown in. 

Anybody else here read it?

I just finished it. It was pretty "meh" in my opinion. Too many name switches and journal entries. I would have preferred to read about how the different societies dealt with it and more on the beginning of it all.
I felt like all the characters needed more backstory and the ending seemed to be quite the throwaway. I think the concept is a very interesting one though.

I just read this (based on this recommendation. I picked up the sequel and read that too, and now am waiting to read the next book whenever it comes out. I really thought the story was interesting. I liked the sequel even more, I feel like the author really got her footing.
