Don't believe that 45 called or that Daily Stormer claims he did?
I think it's unlikely that 45 directly called Putin to ask for this, but I do think he will miss out on this new opportunity to denounce them and that therefore the news won't help him.
I don't believe 45 called Putin. But this link says the new website does have an .ru address so part of it is probably true.
Censure is a formal, and public, group condemnation of an individual, often a group member, whose actions run counter to the group's acceptable standards for individual behavior. In the United States, governmental censure is done when a body's members wish to publicly reprimand the President of the United States, a member of Congress, a judge or a cabinet member. It is a formal statement of disapproval.
And in this instance, an extremely strategic move to try to expose and divide the GOP.
There is apparently now a censure resolution in the House.
I wonder how much traction this will gain or if it will just get brushed aside.
I don't know, but as ESF points out it seems strategic. Imagine the 2018 election ads pointing out that specific, individual Rs refused to sign a censure denouncing white nationalism.

Yes, I think this is a great way to get the Rs to go on record.

I think it'll get brushed aside for two reasons. First, those presenting it don't have "Star Power" and second because of the final part where they call out Bannon and Gorka and demand their removal. If they were just condemning him, it might get traction...but asking them to actually DO something may be the sticking point.
Hopefully I'm wrong.
I think its going to just take ONE Republican willing to put everything on the line. Stand up and DO something...and I think the chips will start to fall quickly. But so long as it is started by Democrats, I'm doubtful it'll get anywhere.
Just as a random, I am actually really disturbed that the "surprising" thing to his aides is that he said these things in public, since apparently he has been making similar remarks in private.
Its like, "we knew he was a complete racist asshole, we just never expected him to be so blatant about it."
Especially after all the election/post election talk about "not talking him literally," "he's just saying what he has to say to get elected," and all that other nonsense. Ap
Racism is against army values since 1775?! Tell me again when forces were integrated. Tell me again how many white nationalist members there are.
Ah, yeah. Good point. The sentiment of the tweet is nice, but the history doesn't align. If it gives a white nationalist hesitation to sign up for boot camp, I'm okay with that, but I hope it's a typo more than that the general just can't see racism in the Army.
I'd be fine with it if he tweeted that it's against core values and ended there. It is against core values NOW. They are kicking out finally white supremacists. But don't whitewash history. It's unnecessary and takes away from the power of the statement against bigotry.

As an aside, Capital Bikeshare dock that was installed within White House Security perimeter during Obama's presidency (so that WH staff could pick up a bike elsewhere and bike to work, or vice versa) has been removed at Trump's request. Because he doesn't want even the smallest signal that we should care about the environment anywhere near him?

Because Obama. There was an article I posted a week or two ago that had quotes from some European diplomats talking about how single minded he was about Obama. "Obsessed," they said. Didn't matter what subject came up, his first question would be, "did Obama support this?" And if the answer was affirmative he would immediately say, "we don't" and there was no amount of evidence that would persuade him otherwise. It's really pathological.
Hey, wanna see a big-talking neo nazi cry because he's in twouble? This is the jackass who was heavily featured in the Vice documentary. The one who promised more deaths of rivals as he emptied his weapons cache onto is bed. Crying like a little bitch.
He has a dangerous line to walk. Don't piss off trump too much, and hang in there a little bit longer for a chance to be 46. But to be in agreement with the words trump spoke... not good.

So a censure vote would force the GOP to either publically approve or disapprove of Trump & his behavior/statements? I htink it's pretty brilliant...get all tehse fools on record as either condemn or condoning dumptster fire.

Yes I bet the continued popularity of obama's words over his must. E physically painful to him.
The Biden tweet is from August 16, 2012. It's a running joke that all the tweets of him bitching about the Obama years foretell the disaster of his own presidency with eerie accuracy. Here he complains how hard it is for staff to clean up after gaffes. Can anyone even remember what Biden said? And now we have trumps words on Charlottesville, words that's will never be forgotten ever.
