...is back!

I am really not looking forward to this week.  Have to fly to Tampa today for meetings tomorrow morning.  My flight is right after the eclipse should finish here so I'm heading to the airport early because I don't want to be driving while it's going on.  I suspect it will muck up traffic.  The problem is I have meetings starting at 10am so I've got to get to the airport extra early to get to a quite spot to dial in.  So basically I'm leaving my house this morning at 8:30am for a 5 pm flight.

Then tomorrow afternoon I have to drive to Ft. Lauderdale for all day meetings on Wednesday.  Fly home Wednesday night for all day meetings Thursday in Atlanta.  Somewhere in all of that I also have a ton of work to get done.  Friday cannot come fast enough!

the weekend was nice though.  Pool party on Saturday and was able to get some work done yesterday.

The weekend was good. Kind of a mixed bag, I worked over time Friday and Saturday. Then I met up with a bunch of people for fancy coffee. The guy I have a crush on even showed up. And we continued our tradition of having tacos after coffee. It was fun.

Yesterday I had to replace our toilet seat because it broke off. All I wanted to do was sit on the couch.

My weekend was good, but crazy. Saturday was some volunteering and two different parties. Yesterday we went to look at some houses - including a previous one I had looked at for A. He decided to make a lowball offer on it since it has been sitting on the market for 6+ weeks and they actually came down a LOT in their counter. We're still trying to work it out a hair lower, but fingers crossed!! He's willing to pay what they came back with, but figured it's worth a shot to try to get it a little lower. It is such a cute house and really big enough to grow into with a big lot size that backs up to a park.

This week I have to wrap some things up at work, going to see matchbox twenty tomorrow night and then off to Texas on Thursday. I'm ready for a mini-vacation and to meet pinkplasticdoll!!

This weekend was crazy, but fun. We hosted HH for a friend on Friday night who was in from OOT. Saturday I worked in the yard a ton, took a nap and then met a friend for the crit race. Sunday we went to a baby shower and then to our neighbor's house for a small BBQ.

This week might be super busy. We have to finish working on the duplex tonight, as the new tenants move in tomorrow. Wednesday night P's little cousin wants to hang out. Thursday is P's birthday, so that will be a busy day, too.

TODAY IS THE DAY MY OLD HOUSE CLOSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so over this and so ready to have all the signing done. The buyers are insisting at closing at 3:30 at their agent's office an hour south of the city. Yeah, F that - it's an hour drive, then even longer on the way home, because I'd have to deal with rush hour traffic. So instead, I'm signing at my agent's office at noon and then they can do whatever the hell they want at 3:30.

Also, I drove to the old house yesterday and was surprised to find the realtor's lockbox open and EMPTY. WTF? After a panicked call to my agent, he told the buyer's agent to take the key with her yesterday and give it to the buyers today. I'm trying to determine if I'm mad about this because it's justified, or if I'm just annoyed at all the fuckery that's gone on in general, but I am really not OK with him giving someone a key to my house, especially without even mentioning it to me first. To me, the buyers, or their agent, are welcome to the key after they sign the paperwork - not before. I trust none of these people.

Think good thoughts for me today. My anxiety is at peak levels and I'm waiting to hear back on a couple of jobs.

I reported my boss several weeks ago and it has come back to haunt me. Lots of bad stuff going on and I need to leave asap.

My weekend was really good. Friday I took the train to my parents' house and Saturday we got out kinda early to test drive a couple cars. One place was really nice, but there were some issues with the car. At CarMax, the guy walked away when he realized I wasn't ready *right then* but oh well, it all worked out.

Saturday night we went to the symphony for their Tchaikovsky Spectacular complete with fireworks. They played a couple pieces from The Sleeping Beauty so I was happy and the conductor was hilarious.

Today I'm taking my car to my mechanic for him to check over and make sure it's good. I need to contact my insurance and change the car on it, plus add back collision coverage. I also need to ask AAA when I can switch the plates over to my old ones. I'm going to a luncheon at 11:30 for incoming grad student interns at my work and then, right after lunch, I'll be giving a 45 minute training. Busy day today!

My weekend was good. I ended up going to an art show in the park on Saturday. Thankfully the rain held off for that. On Sunday I just did errands and laundry and watched Netflix. It was a nice, quiet weekend.

So, I'm completely grossed out right now and trying not to vomit. I brought a plum with me today and it looked fine. I was munching on it and I looked down and saw some black specs, that looked weird. I tore the fruit a little bit and there was a maggot wriggling around in the fruit. GUISE, I ALMOST ATE A LIVE MAGGOT. I'm done.

I think the key thing would annoy me too chalupa but at this point I probably wouldn't say anything. Just keep your head down until this is all over.

I wonder if any of the employees in the SkyClub are going to start looking at me funny when they see I'm basically living here today. I mean, I got here at 10am and will be here until a little after 4pm. Also, I wonder when it will be acceptable for me to get a glass of wine?

And now I'm texting with my sister, who is a RN. I read an article that says if there is a maggot in your fruit, don't cut the bad part out and eat the rest. There is typically a large amount of bacteria present that can make you really sick. My sister is telling me to either make myself vomit or not eat anything for a while so the stomach acid can do it's thing. I'm sitting here trying to decide if I go home and make myself sick or take a chance.

So, I decided "team stomach acid" won out after my sister told me that given an hour had passed, vomiting probably wouldn't help at all. Lovely. This is a really good weight loss trick, though, as I don't really want to eat anything. I also learned why P won't eat any fruit that hasn't been cut in to slices. I wish he would have told me that before. LOL.
