The book I'm currently reading, The Matchmaker by Elin Hildebrand (not a terrible summer beach read so far) referenced Mrs. Dalloway a few times. Whenever I come across a reference to a classic that I've never read, I like to add it to my to-read list (like when I made my book club read Tess of D'Ubervilles after reading 50 shades ). But my to-read list is super long right now, so I'm looking for opinions on whether I should sneak this class in now or not. Anyone read it and want to ring in?
I loved it. It's stream of consciousness, so not super easy to follow, but if you're in the right state of mind for it the dreamlike storytelling is really lovely.
ETA a disclaimer: nothing really happens. Definitely not plot heavy.
I read this years ago and it kind of reminds me of the Old Man and the Sea (not in the actual story or writing method at all, lol) - but in that I read it in like a day or two, it was a very fast read, but then I kind of had to take a step back to process it and think about it. Like charlatti said its not super easy to follow in the big picture but each paragraph is easy to read, if that makes sense.
