I need shoes. Comfy, casual shoes that are dressy enough to wear on casual Fridays with jeans, but not so casual I look like a schmuck. (I have a pair of converse and a pair of Disney princess shoes for that.)
More casual and more comfortable than flats. (Everything is more comfortable than flats to me.)

I love Sperry boat shoes - they look great with jeans. I wear size 8.5-9, so I usually like the Angelfish style, which doesn't make my feet look as big as the boat shoes with longer fronts.
covergirl82, I second the sperry boat shoes in Angelfish, totally wore them to work today. And just bought a second pair as I have worn out the soles in them.
I'm not sure what you mean by "flats" being uncomfortable. Do you mean dressy shoes that just happen not to have a heel? Because if so, I'm with you.
I got some Sam Edelman ballet flats at Nordstrom Rack that are without a doubt the best shoes I've ever owned. I walked over 9 miles in them in NYC and my feet and legs felt great the whole time.
mommyatty, most flats, especially ballet flats kill me for some reason. The heel on them comes up high enough that when I walk, the top part digs into my Achilles. It's basically the worst pain ever - one step in them, and they get returned. It's a problem I've never had in heels. I did find one pair that I loved, but they no longer make them.
Are you allowed to wear sandals at work or only closed toe? I live in my sandals all summer but I am in a more casual industry.
Technically no, but I can get away with. But the state of my toenail polish.. ew. I'm fine letting them be seen on weekends and at daycare, but not at work.
I'm actually an old lady... So I love brands like Aerosoles and Anne Klein Sport. I've found comfortable ballet flats and boat shoe styles from them. Anne Klein Sport usually has some sort of casual wedge thing too.

I second the recommendation for Sam Edelman. Absolutely the most comfortable flats I've ever owned.
Okay, so Zappos is flipping amazing. I ordered yesterday.
There was a price reduction that paribus emailed them about (I can't for the life of me figure out how to unsubscribe from paribus, but in this case, it worked in my favor), and instead of just issuing a credit for the price drop, I'm getting a free pair of shoes. What?
