Long story short, the little boys (will be 2yo in 2 weeks), are no longer in cribs (not an option to put them back, they won't stay...but we hate they are out so young).
How the HECK do I get them to stay!? Our bigs were almost 3 and able to understand how to stay in bed (mostly)...this is terrible. We're trying the no reaction supernanny put them back in bed thing...but it's lasting 2+ hours EVERY NAP and EVERY bedtime...I can't do this much longer. Any suggestions??? Or just a time frame for long until this works?? Any encouragement?
DS has never done this (of course I'd lay with him until he fell asleep every night which was obviously a different problem), so I'm not sure how much help I'll be.
Maybe completely babyproof their room and then gate the door? I figure eventually they'll get tired and fall asleep, if not in their bed, then at least in their room somewhere?
My DD was in a crib with a crib tent from 18 months-3. She was finally ready for a bed at 3. Prior to that she hurled herself out of the crib head first...didn't even take the time to climb out. We loved that crib tent! I don't really have other advise....I would have thought your method would work. So sorry!
Is it possible to split them and temporarily share a room with the older children. Have the younger ones go down half an hour earlier, once they're asleep, the older ones can go to bed? Once they get the idea they are to lay down and go to sleep, then they can go back together.
I got a text/video from my SIL last night and her 2 year old triplets are officially all climbing out of their cribs and she is in the same boat! I will let you know if she comes up with anything "outside the box".
we ended up splurging on a two way video monitor which seems to help some (me yelling in there for them to lay back down..but it's not perfect) court26, your SIL has ALLLLLL my sympathies!!
