awick14 How does DD do camping? We really want to go, but we're nervous it may be such a disaster. Any kid-friendly tips are very welcome! (Or anyone else here who has some).
We may pitch a tent in our backyard this weekend and test it out. Have a fire, sleeping bags, and our own bathroom.
We are the same...want to go but fear disaster. Backyard trial is a good idea!
estrellita recently went with E and said it wasn't a great idea...she validated my concerns...

Haha... yeah was not good for us He flat out refused to nap, finally passed out in ILs camper around 4 after taking a shower. He was so cranky and spoiled the whole time (partially MIL's fault for giving him so many cookies...). He did not want to sleep in the tent at all. Screamed for a while until we finally brought him in the camper (this was at like 12:30). To be fair, he does that at hotels too but there it's easier to just kinda ignore him and let him fall asleep. We had him in the PnP and next time we're just getting a small air mattress for him, securing anything we don't want him into, and letting him go back and forth (was part of the problem, he wanted his bed, then to cuddle, then back and forth...). He also freaks out at bugs so that was fun. And the next site over let their dog wander and it scared the crap out of him. It wasn't a mean dog, E just gets scared of animals that aren't his kitties, lol. But still. Anyways, hopefully anyone else here has a better experience than that!

I HATE Comcast. HATE. Unfortunately, they are our only option for cable. So we either get gouged and get the channels we want, or get slightly less ripped off and not get all of the ones we want. Great options.

HoneySpider I've determined all cable companies are pure evil. Every company we've had has been horrible. Charter was the company I've had the most in college, Comcast at my parents house. We also used Century Link for a while. They were the worst. That's why we said screw cable and just pay for internet from a lesser known company, plus Netflix, Hulu, and Prime (and HBO during GoT, and I'll admit we use our parents logins for certain apps). I hate the crap the cable companies pull!
Ugh I woke up to a missed call from my BFF at 10:30 last night. We never talk on the phone so usually if she (or anyone for that matter) calls, it's something important. My anxiety is going nuts. I texted her since it's 7 am now so I'm waiting for her response. I hope everything is ok and I'm freaking out for nothing!
Update: She responded to "everything ok?" with "it will be" and said she'd explain later so at least I know she's ok and it doesn't seem to be an emergency. Still don't know what's going on but that's ok, lol.
estrellita I hate that hope things are not too bad for her.
I'm ready to scream. The lady who manages my community mom group, of which I do a TON of work and have never let anyone down, continues to obsessively micromanage me. She wants all emails forwarded to her, she inquires exactly how and at what time I performed menial tasks. Lady, if you want help, let me help. If you want to micromanage me to this extent, just do it yourself. It's as if she thinks I'm a child with no experience when in actuality my last two jobs were basically her position and I was well respected at work. It's so frustrating.

I would resign.
She is done in November so I've been trying to just deal with it until she's gone. The co-lead who's taking over is the sweetest, most easy going person who trusts me implicitly. It will get better soon, I hope...
HoneySpider - Comcast is awful. They're our only choice here, too, unless we move to satellite. Ugh.
Yeah satellite is an option for us too. We actually may look into it - it wasn't on our radar because I don't like the idea of the long contract when we're renting, but even if we end up having to buy out the contract, it still might not be any more than paying Comcast! We are at least going to look into some options.
estrellita We have said for a long time we could probably do without cable except that we watch a lot of sports. If we can access that via other means, we may consider it. We're going to look into it at least, because I am that frustrated.

One of the smoke alarms upstairs is beeping, I found a 9v battery and changed it but apparently it's no good since it's still beeping (it's some off-brand I've never heard of, no idea where it came from so not exactly surprised it doesn't work lol) DH is going to pick one up on his way home from work but hours of listening to beeping is sooooo annoying. And I am worried DS might not be able to go to sleep because of it.
Meanwhile, I just subscribe & saved a big pack of 9v batteries so we're prepared next time.

HoneySpider I get it, I miss sports! We use our parents login for our Fox Sports app but our college hockey games are only occasionally on there. The conference does have a streaming service but we aren't really home enough to watch the games live. I thought about the MLB streaming app but apparently you can't watch your own team like, ever. So since I'm in MN, I can't watch the Twins. I could watch the Orioles, if they aren't playing here. At least this is how my sister explained it. So something like that MIGHT work for you since you follow various teams that aren't in your viewing area but it just didn't sound worth it for us!

estrellita, I will look into it. We were talking about how we might be able to use my parents' login for Watch ESPN, but didn't look into any other apps yet.

Well, BFF didn't call or text back so I'm going to assume things are ok. She posted something on FB about being tired of explaining herself to people that don't want to understand so I'm wondering if she had a falling out with someone or fight with her H or something. Hopefully that's all it is (not that I want that but it's better than the things that my brain was coming up with).
I had a good visit with my friend today! Got to meet her BF who is super nice. We walked around our college campus and went to a favorite local restaurant. I hope I can make a trip out to visit her sometime!
H posted a really sweet note about me on Facebook after our workout today. He never does stuff like that without some sort of prompt from me, and it made me feel all sorts of twitterpated. We were out running errands when he did it, too, so it was a total surprise when the notification popped up on my phone.

The rain held out for us to get the show in the air tonight. Then it started pouring while we did clean up. I was soaking wet and now have a chill I can't get rid of. I'm all bundled up and about to go to bed under about 5 blankets lol.

We had a decently busy day (at least compared to the past week...today was the first day I felt ok...still not 100% but definitely going in the right direction)! I took C to the park, DH went to the lake to paddle board during nap time, and then we all went out to dinner at Yard House! The boys are asleep and DH and I are relaxing a bit before heading to bed!
Hoping to go to the zoo tomorrow! Thunderstorms are in the forecast and I have a feeling the boys won't nap well and will be overtired in the afternoon but hoping we have a good time overall. C is looking forward to it. L still has a nasty cough but is behaving normal so optimistic it will go well! We will go to one of my favorite pizza/breweries on the way home!

Sorry you are so cold but I kinda wish I could snuggle up in some blankets after this week! It's been 100+ degrees every day and it has me pretty grumpy (along with being sick, boys being sick, and AF showing up)! I hope you get warm again soon!!!
luv2rn4fun - A month ago, I couldn't even deadlift the 45 lb bar. Today, I deadlifted 95 lbs! Next week, my goal is to hit triple digits. Also, I did two sets of squats on the actual squat rack, which is a HUGE deal for me.
