Last week: I managed to walk on the treadmill twice.
Diet has continued for the most part.
On Saturday, DS and I went with MIL to a birthday pizza party place and DS did not want to go. The main reason I agreed to go with MIL was because it was free and I didn't have to cook dinner. DS had fun playing all the arcade games with me and won a whole bunch of rubber balls which were shoved in my purse.
I managed to get rid of some brand new flip flops I never wore. I am going to try to get rid of more stuff in our home because I was not done the first time around.
This week: I hope to exercise twice on the treadmill.
I got some projects done which feels good. We had a cook out with some friends. I used my back massager for the first time in a while, though it was only mildly helpful. LO relaxed on the porch swing playing games one afternoon.
This week is TBD. However, I have been working this morning on filing old paperwork and making calls and such in order to declutter my desk. Hard to believe it was fairly decluttered just a couple of weeks ago. Hoping to finish it up after I eat.
So last week was DH's family reunion and eclipse party. We rented a condo on the beach near North Myrtle Beach and hung out at DH's brother's house next door. DS and the niece who used to live with me came along.
The first night we had a lovely dinner to celebrate the recent marriage of our niece who will be on assignment in Kabul next year. Fabulous food and wine.
Next day was the Eclipse Party. Things were going swimmingly until the clouds rolled in and obscured the view entirely. I managed to slip in some dog drool and slam my already dodgy left knee and ankle into a step. I did this in full view of everyone at the party which was embarrassing- plus I spilled a beer which was intended for hubs. I'm sure people thought I was drunk- they didn't have any beer at the party worth the calories so I stuck to seltzer. (My sweet nephew who runs a big beer/wine store in St. Louis brought me some swell IPAs but other guests drank those before I arrived. My knee is still bruised and balky, but I did manage some nice walks on the beach and am back on the trails at the local park.
The day after that, the nieces and nephews attempted to fly home. About half made it out on their scheduled flights, so we had the company of two of the nieces an extra day. Plus, they got upgrades and vouchers for next time- so yay them. Unfortunately, BIL who was "hosting" went into A-fib and was hospitalized that day. Both my BILs have significant cardiac issues, but at least this one was local to his team. He had some tests and an ablation done while we were there but he wasn't up to visitors so we didn't see much of him.
Glad I went, but it's great to be home.
This week:
I am dealing with my BSC parents. As usual. I'm trying to coordinate communication between my mother's dermatologist and her orthopedic surgeon to get her cleared for her knee replacement in 11 days. She has to get confirmed for the date and get scheduled to re-do her pre-admission testing. And I've been trying to get dad scheduled to figure out WTAF is going on in his gut- he's got gall stones, blocked bile ducts, liver changes and with dementia keeps insisting his has sore ribs. He sees the gastro while she's in the hospital. Because the fun never ends around here. I think he's going to need to be scoped next which should be a real dog and pony show but could potentially get rid of the pain.

DS has been gone all week, with his dad to visit grandparents.
I think it's very telling that even when he's not here, I still have mountains of stuff to take care and so much that I never get around to doing. For example, Monday was so full of meetings and errands that there was no hope of getting any cleaning done. And then when I'm not busy doing something, I'm so tired I don't want to move. Work days are long, there's a bunch of back-to-school stuff to take care of this week. Today is my first day with good chunks of time to get work done at home and here I am being a blob. Maybe if I let go of my guilt something might happen.

What did you do this past week? Worked out 3x, date with DH, and lunch with friends. (Taking advantage of boys back in school before my work schedule ramps up.)
Any plans for this week? Time scheduled with friends next Friday evening. I'll definitely need good self-care next week; I have a job interview Tuesday morning.
Challenge: Each day, tell yourself one thing that is good in your life right now. I love this. Thankful for a lot!
