One of my clients recently had a death in his immediate family. I'd like to send him something on behalf of the office, budget <$150. Ideas besides flowers? Or should I just go with flowers?

When my grandparents passed away, I received a mum plant for each of them. For an immediate family member, I like the ideas of donating to the family's designated charity or a meal delivery gift card.
k3am, American Cancer Society is a good general cancer charity, if you wanted to go that route. I'd probably do that instead of flowers or a plant. Can you google the obituary based on your client's name?
I really appreciated tangible things when my Dad passed - cards meant a lot to me. So if you do donate still send a nice card. I did not appreciate the flowers that were also dying - it seemed really morbid to send someone something that was dying when someone had died.
We do memorial gardens instead of regular flowers. This way the person has something to keep after and they don't have to look at flowers that are dying.
