I started out yesterday thinking it would be a pretty chill day to knock some significant work out and slim down my to-do list. Nope.
First my neighbor calls me to see if she can borrow my car. Yep, no problem, I wasn't planning to go anywhere with all the rain we got anyway. I then get an email from the Procurement guy at one of our newest customers basically saying he's got $50k to spend by the end of the month (yesterday was 8/31 mind you). I've got two contracts that still need final negotiations and closure with them so he's wondering if we can use that $50k towards either of those. Well, it's not quite that simple but when someone from procurement wants to spend their money with you, you find a way to make it happen (amiright chalupa ?!?!). So I did but not without about 25 urgent phone calls to various people to attempt to structure a contract that would work for all parties. In the middle of all of this my laptop battery starts to die and when I go look for my charger it's nowhere to be found. That's because I accidentally left it in my car...which my neighbor has. So I shut down my laptop to conserve battery and do as much as I can on my phone and ipad and only turn on my laptop when I absolutely need to. That was fun and yes I did order a backup charger from Amazon that was delivered last night.
So today will be a pretty full day but hopefully not as crazed as yesterday.
Tomorrow I head out of town to see my BFF and catch the first Va Tech football game on Sunday. Yay for the start of football season!
LOL kaneen. I want to kill my internal customers every december when they have to spend money before the end of the year or lose it. Nothing says "Charge me up to my max dollar amount" quite like telling our vendor they have to spend the $$$ immediately
I'm hoping for an early release today - come on, 1pm notice!
I am not going camping this weekend - it's cold, it's about to be super rainy, and nope. My comfy bed and flannel pants are calling. So instead we're having people over tomorrow for a board game night. No idea what I'm doing besides that, except for being as lazy as possible.

I still gave them a bit of a discount because I'm just nice like that. Well, and because I used the opportunity to get them to commit to the larger contract by the end of September.
Ugh we just left A's "home inspection" but had to reschedule for two weeks from now because the water was not turned on. That's the earliest the inspector can meet us again. This puts us 5 days outside the DD period - yikes, but I have my fingers crossed that everything is new so hopefully there won't be too many major issues. The terminte inspection was completed and no sign of them. He said the crawl space/foundation looks good and that everything under the house is new so that's some good news. He should have the report by that same day once the rescheduled inspection is completed if he needs to negotiate any repairs. The house is so fricken adorable though and the backyard is so awesome. So much potential for us.
This weekend I have to squeeze in a long run tomorrow and then Buddy and I will head up to A's place until Tuesday AM. Not much planned, I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend finally with wine drinking, maybe taking the boats out and being lazy.
I'm going in to work for a little bit just for a meeting and to organize my office a bit, then coming home and relaxing.
Tonight I'm going out with a friend. Tomorrow I'm getting my new car washed and in the evening going to a concert with another friend. I'm really looking forward to it (Warren G)! Sunday one of my friends invited me out on his boat and I need to decide if I want to go. I get seasickness pretty easily, which is my hesitation. Those are all of my plans for the weekend at this point.
doglove A's realtor should be immediately drafting an amendment to change the deadlines in your contract, and since this is the asshole seller's fault you could not complete your inspection in time, they should be signing without question. Do not inspect outside the window for walk away and just hope everything is OK - you need to protect yourselves.

It's still 5 days within the window deadline of acceptance so we should be okay. The inspector said he'll get us the report by the same evening. I think as long as we negotiate any repairs before DD is up and get that paperwork signed, we should be fine.
I knew this guy was going to be a douche this whole process based on him dragging his feet signing the initial contract.
I took Tuesday off as well so it will be a good 4 day break from work. It's fucking nuts here. We're letting more people go or eliminating their jobs. I have the complaint stuff. It's just, yeah. A lot. Looking forward to eating fair food and then being lazy and sleeping in.
Half day today that wound up not being really being a half day. Had back-to back meetings starting at 9 am and one of them was really frustrating. I need my account managers to understand their priorities need to be for us and not the client. Then a firm wanted to change some of the language of their contract for a position that starts Tuesday. Managed to get it done, but not without a lot of frustration.
Getting my oil changed tomorrow, but otherwise hoping for lots of relaxation this weekend. There's college football to be watched, so that's exciting.
Tonight I'm planning to sit outside and enjoy the sounds of nature with the cool air.
