Dd almost missed her bus this week because of the teacher. We are already working with the school to change the protocol to make sure our six year old isn't left behind but we'd like a way to check on her after school. Anyone have a product they love or hate?
I don't have any recs, but I really believe this is the school's issue to fix; it's absolutely unacceptable for a 6 yr old (or any kid who's of the age to need to be under the care of an adult for that matter) to have any chance of being "left behind". They need to have a procedure in place to make sure this never, ever happens, IMO. If the child is bussed home, they need to be put on the bus to go home - period. I personally think it's worth making a call to the school to ask what their procedure is to make sure this never happens, actually.

Oh believe me, there was an email with the fire of a thousand suns written to the principal about it. She responded appropriately (emailed me back promising me she would look into it, looked into it, talked to the teacher, and called me back). The principal tightened up a few things in their protocol and then I made some other requests that she is trying to figure out but she agrees, it is unacceptable for my child to be almost left behind. I just want to be able to check on her.
O.k., that's good - and good on you for having taken that step. Sorry again that I have no recs, but I'm glad to hear your concern seems to be being addressed!
