mommyatty, My DS is potty training right now too. He has no issues pooping in the potty, but heaven forbid he actually pees in the potty. OMG he is so stubborn.
We potty trained. I sent him to school in underwear. We shall see how it goes. If this week goes poorly then we might put it off a little bit longer. I'm just tired of pull ups.
We have the opposite. DS loves to pee in the potty. But he will hide to poop his pants. And until this weekend, I'm not sure he got the link between that panicked feeling he got where he would hold his crotch and dance and going to the potty. I actually explained that to him this weekend and it appeared to click. I told him "that feeling when you grab your penis and feel scared? Instead of doing that, tell us you need to potty or just go potty." So I was really excited when he said "Oh! I need to potty" and went running for the toilet. And then he peed a gallon.
akafred, I've taught myself how to use Tableau at a very basic level. I honestly find that googling something like "make totals match up on tableau" gives me really good results - the help forums they have are pretty exhaustive with good tips. I just think it's easier to google it than try to navigate within their help area. It's how I've figured out basically everything I know how to do in there.
Thanks. My problems were actually almost all caused by errors within the spreadsheet from Finance. I had to convert a short wide sheet to a tall narrow database format as an input, and it turns out the spreadsheet total rows are not totaling correctly in some cases. Formula error. But it took a lot of brute force to find them. I am thrilled to say they actually match now!!!
phdmomma, I am glad that there are a lot more options available now. I had to go gluten free for a short time early on in this process to try to diagnose the issue and was surprised at how much is actually available at the grocery store. I'm just ready for an answer!
DS2 is not sleeping well at 5 months old and I suspect he might have some reflux. He gets up crying multiple times a night and spits up/burps a lot. I will be taking him to the pedi today to see what they can do for him. He has always had a sensitive tummy and is already on the sensitive stomach formula. The lack of sleep is really starting to wear on DH and me - we can't keep continuing like this.
Celebration: DS1 started preschool today. He has been asking about preschool since it ended last spring, but we told him he couldn't go unless he was potty trained. Potty training just clicked for him about 2 weeks ago. He was so excited this morning. I hope he stays excited about school.
DD2's fever broke on Thursday so we were able to have some fun this weekend. We camped in our backyard and they slept in the tent all three nights. DD1 started K today and she was so excited. I'm feeling all the emotions.
Weekend was okay. We did go to our friends and actually had better air quality at their place in Central Oregon than we did here in the Willamette Valley. The drive home was gross and was like driving through thick stinky fog but it was smoke.
DD started school this morning. She was fine until we got to the school and the girl that picked on her last year got up in her face. I told the girl to go wait in line while DD shook and hid behind me. Mrs J was awesome and picked up and DD's nerves gave her a hug and complimented her hair so hopefully she relaxed a little. They are keeping all students inside today due to the smoke and hazardous air quality.
You guys. The surgeon just called us. He was in a boating accident this weekend and mangled his hand. He called it "potentially career ending." Which is terrible for him, but for us... I don't know. We have to meet with the person they want to have sub in.
I'm thinking I'm going to leave work since I'm.. not mentally here at all anyways.

Oh my god, k3am, leave work. Or stay, if you think the distraction is helping. This is unbelievable and absolutely the last thing you need to find out right now (putting the obvious implications to the surgeon's livelihood aside).
Is this the same surgeon who performed her last surgery? I think I remember you changing medical teams at some point and being especially happy with the new one, but I don't recall if this surgeon was part of that team.
Ugh, I'm sorry. I know you will get through this, but I'm still so sorry for the complication and for how you must feel right now.
Thanks guys This years teacher seems much more in tune with DD and saw her be herself at meet the teacher so I hope things go better. I will be checking in Friday when I get to pick her up from school to see how things went this week.
Has anyone used the app ClassDojo? Her teacher is using it but I don't know if I or DD posts something if it is public or just for the teachers eyes. It has student mode and parent mode.
k3am, what are the odds that your surgeon was injured? I really hope the universe gives you a break soon. You really deserve it. I hope the new surgeon is just as good, if not better, than the other one.

DSs preschool uses ClassDojo, the way that they use it is essentially like facebook but only the teachers can make posts, but then anyone can like the posts or comment on the posts. Everyone who is in the class can see the likes and comments. Then there is a private message section between the parent and teacher and only we can see those. We really like it, it seems to work great!
