I was blessed with wide calves well with one . My left fits in normal boots but my right its just a bit bigger. When I buy wide calf boots I hate how big/wide they look on me . Does anyone know any boots that tend to be a bit bigger in the calf so I can see if I can avoid the wide calf boots ? It sucks because they look so uneven !
I have found Nine West to run a bit larger. Most regular boots are too small for me, sometimes the wide are too large though. I ordered wide Frye's a few years ago and they are still a bit snug, but I can squeeze into them with jeggings. Boots with those elastic panels might be good in your case.
Truth be told, I'd be kind of happy to see riding boots go out of style, because they are tough to fit just right. I feel like booties have been starting to take over. There are too many damn factors with riding boots (height, width, ankle, blah) for them to look just right.
Go to DSW if possible - I have wide calves and have bought a couple pairs of normal width calf boots there. Trying them on is the only way I can tell if they'll work. I still lament the pair of Fryes I found there that fit but were too tall to be comfy on my legs.
I jave wide calk boota from payless shoes and lane bryant and love both. Look for ones with a ribben stretch panel in them, to help with the different sized legs. Or even boots with laces or an expanding buckle on the back, to be able to adjust the width of the boot shaft.
