Highlights or AW's from the past week? I got 2nd F in my trail race! It was such a fantastic, fun race. Mud and rocky trails are not my favorite, but I enjoyed the atmosphere so much. @ . . . And, in 10 minutes I am waking up my baby for her first day of kindergarten! I can't freakin' believe it.

Training plan for the week? Mon - strength + bike, Tues - 6mi, Wed - 14 mi + strength, Thur - swim + 6mi, Fri - 6 mi w/ 6x100, Sat - Rest, Sun - 14 mi
Any issues or vents? Nothing too major, just some aches and pains which is normal considering I did 54 miles last week. H is going out of town Thur-Sun for a guys weekend and I'm stressing at how much I have to do on top of marathon training. One double dentist appointment for the kids, two baseball practices, one baseball game and I'll be working on Thur and Fri. I'm going to my sister's Sat night in Baltimore so I can squeeze in a run and she can watch the kids.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I was in Burlington, VT for work last week and got to run on the beautiful trail by Lake Champlain. The weather was amazing. The food and drinks were great. What a nice little town. I even nailed my tempo run despite having to do it in the afternoon after having a big lunch. I'm feeling excited and a little nervous about my half next weekend. I'm ready to crush 1:40. The weather is looking good so far.
I'm running a 10K with the BOB on Sunday, but I've never gone longer than 3 miles with it before. Also its during DS' nap time so the whole thing has disaster potential lol.

Any issues or vents? I'm having problems with my shoes, and I'm annoyed that I will probably need to buy new ones. I don't have very many local shopping options, so it's a PITA to try and figure out what might work better for me.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I did barbell squats on the actual squat rack, which is a huge deal for me. I have hip and knee problems, so being able to do squats safely has been an issue in the past. I started out using a squat machine, moved up to doing them on the smith machine, and this week I finally managed a couple of sets on the actual squat rack.

Any issues or vents? My hip is really nagging me. I'm going to back on the miles a bit, or trade some for the bike and see if that helps. I've been not sleeping well and feeling run down in general so a little rest might not be a bad idea.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? The weather has been glorious. Cooling off, sunny ( mostly) and turning into a lovely fall. Favorite time of year!

Possibly will do adventure biathlon at the end of this month. 5 mile trail run/10 mile bike. Not sure yet .. I feel worried that running that long on bumpy trails will aggravate my ankle ...

Any issues or vents? Generally fatigued, I've been exercising more and my body is like "wait, what's happening here"
Highlights or AW's from the past week? THRILLED to have run over five miles yesterday without my ankle forcing me to stop. There were moments it felt a little "weird" but overall it was good. Trying to chill and not start going crazy so I'm forcing myself to just do a couple 3 mile runs this week.
Also, I am so proud of my little ones. We all went on the rail trail Saturday morning and my H strava'd it. almost 4 miles. My son was definitely a disaster, he can't focus and keeps looking around and taking his feet off the pedals and can't start himself! But still, he's 3 and riding a two wheeler so I'm very proud. My five year old girl did fantastic. She did have a meltdown at one point on the way back but pulled herself together.

Any issues or vents? Real life stuff is getting in my way of training here at the end. And, I didn't meal plan, so my eating is ridiculous at the moment.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? 80 miles completed on Saturday and I didn't die!

Training plan for the week? It's peak mileage week. M: 5 miles T: #realmitch W: power flow, 8 miles Th: #realmitch, 5 miles F: power flow, 8 miles Sa: 18 miles
Any issues or vents? Adding a family member caused last week to kind of fall apart. I got all my miles done, but I missed a lifting session and a yoga class. Also, the OTHER side of my neck is flaring up which I find really annoying.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I made it 17 miles in cold, misting rain.

Issues - My run training has been spotty. I have nobody to blame but myself - I keep finding excuses to blow off runs. the only one I've been hitting consistently is my Wednesday speed work. Fail.
AWs - 76 miles was fun! It was super flat, and I while my ass was happy to be off the bike, i could have kept going easily. Century won't be quite such a pancake flat course, but I'm feeling a lot better about my ability to survive 100 miles without just wanting to die.

Any issues or vents? The race I'd been planning on doing at the end of the season isn't happening this year. Irritating. Now I need to find another one and I think I'm going to end up driving to Redding. Also, I cannot find a 50m pool in which I can do my 5k epostal. They're all shutting down for the season or don't have enough time in their lap swim (I need at least 2 hours, probably a little more than that because of my slower speed right now.)

I no longer have any idea what I am going to be doing today. There is a massive fire in the Columbia Gorge and it is raining ash on my city. I have asthma and should stay inside as much as possible. My eyes are watering just from taking my son to school this morning. 😕 My training/taper is so insignificant compared to the destruction.
I need to schedule a chiro tune up. My neck is bugging me again.
The forecast looks really great for my race. Partly cloudy with a high of 78. It's far enough away that the smoke shouldn't be a problem.

Any issues or vents? Not really a vent but going on a business trip out of the country on Thursday, just to muck with my plans even more. I had 4 10 mile runs on my plan for the summer, looks like I will probably only get to do one of them. Life and injuries man!

Any issues or vents? I'm so tired and hungry all the time. I'll be out of town for work early next week and anxiously awaiting my itinerary so I can plan out my runs for next week. I am thinking about doing my long run of 17 on Friday and racing a 5k on Saturday with a friend.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I hit all my mile goals on last weeks tempo run. I am getting a massage on the work trip mentioned above and I am so so looking forward to it.
What are you training for? Date? Scioto River Run HM 9/23, Columbus/Nationwide Children's HM 10/15
Training plan for the week? Uh..playing it by ear. I rolled my ankle pretty significantly at the start of a run Sunday AM and it swelled up like a balloon. The swelling is slowly going down and it's currently a rainbow of different colors, but most importantly the pain I'm having is a 3 (on a scale of 1-10), maybe a 4. If it keeps improving I may try some time on the bike at the gym tomorrow AM and take it from there...if I have my way I'll be able to do 5-6 super easy miles on Saturday but that's only happening if I'm pain free.
Any issues or vents? See above. Stupid ankles.

Training plan for the week? Hanging on for dear life! Mon- 20.3 hard fought miles Tues-light strength stuff, all the foam rolling Wed - 5-6 miles Thurs- probably off with some yoga stuff Fri- 4-5 miles Sat/Sun - 14ish miles, some more strength/yoga
Any issues or vents? I am so tired. The next few weekends are full with work and commitments. The only way I get my long runs some are by getting up around 4 am and trotting around on my Country roads, mostly in the dark. It's alternately wonderful and frustrating. I am so grateful to have finished my 20 miles. It will be my only 20 this cycle, and that will have to be ok.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I'm still on two feet and moving forward. My kid is the best. That's what I've got for now.

Any issues or vents?
I don't think I know what normal ab soreness really feels like since I had my hernia repair surgery 1.5 years ago. I am concerned about re-injury, but perhaps it is normal soreness as the muscle rebuilds down the center-line. I will keep doing all my core/ab PT exercises in the mean time.
Highlights or AW's from the past week?
I was able to actually recover from workouts last week, I think because of the food plan (RP) I'm doing. The fascia soreness I've been plagued with for a couple of years has gone away. I am amazed at how good I feel when I workout, immediately after, and the next day. I plan to lift the day after ballet this week as a test for recovery.

Highlights or AW's from the past week? I 'missed' my first run on my plan last week because of rain (a recovery run). I'm proud of myself for being able to make it this far without missing a run!
This week is 3 today, 6 tomorrow, 3 Thursday and 12 on Saturday. I am actually doing a half in Vermont on Saturday (my birthday present to myself!) so Saturday will end up being a few more than on the training plan.
This past weekend I only had to do 7 and for some reason all 7 SUCKED! Maybe because I am so stressed out right now and my runs haven't been going as I have wanted, so running stresses me out too?
No highlights or AW's. Today is my friend S's birthday and mine is Saturday, so I think we will go out and celebrate next week. I am excited about doing a half on my birthday too.
