I'm trying to plan a theme for H's new room. At what age would a boy outgrow this quilt? H is obsessed with cars and trucks but I don't know how long that lasts. It's expensive so whatever I get needs to last awhile. I made A a quilt but it's just not going to happen this time.
other options are no theme (just pick a color), dinosaurs, or balls. I feel like dinosaurs might last longer but he doesn't love them like he loves trucks.
Benjamin has an Ikea car road rug in his room and still plays with it. I don't see him outgrowing it any time soon. My guess is he might lose interest around 9-10, but dinosaurs might be out then too.
B is still obsessed with cars/trucks/anything with four wheels. The love of vehicles is strong in our house. I agree that anywhere from 8-10 yrs he might lose interest in toy trucks, but I could see him looking at model cars or building them when he's that age too. In my house, cars will long outlast balls or dinosaurs.

Yay good to know! I know like no boys over 3 so I wasn't sure lol. His car/truck love is very strong so I knew he would love it for awhile at least, I forgot about Hot Wheels, those seem to be popular at older ages too. I actually used to build model cars lol

Daniel would have loved it at 2 but would deem it too babyish now. he asked me to buy him new "adult" sheets because the character ones were for babies. He had batman, Spider-Man and paw patrol.
M still loves anything with wheels! That being said we went with themed sheets (cars trucks construction behickes) and stuck with a basic striped comforter
G would still like that quilt; anything with wheels or dinosaurs would be a hit.
That being said, I bought a solid/striped reversible quilt when I converted his toddler bed to full size and have used decorations or pillows for his fire truck theme. I figured it would be easier to change out if he decides at some point it's too babyish. But it's the quilt is adorable!
I got madras quilts for both boys rooms and change out the sheets and decor to go with what "theme" they are interested in at the time. Elliot started with construction sheets, moved onto dinosaurs, and now wants all Minecraft. Henry still had the same quilt we got him when he moved into his"big boy bed" but now at age 10 he's obviously too cool for themes, lol.

Hmm I might do something like this. They have some really cute truck sheets I could get and make him keep a plain quilt forever

I have been really happy with the quality of the target quilts I bought for the boys, they've both been washed several times and still look new. I love the battery barn bedding but just couldn't pull the trigger on something that was likely going to get peed and puked on (both of these things have happened, lol).
The ones I have aren't available anymore but some of these could work depending on your colour scheme!
My DS is 7 and has one of those car rugs. He still uses it regularly. His room theme is transportation - buses, cars, trucks, emergency vehicles, etc. I think we're going to update it next year.
