I have another one, yes DH you should feed DS a snack at 3:15pm when he gets off the bus and comes home on the days we don't have aftercare. 3:30pm is not too close to dinner, which is at 6pm, he is a kid and eats all of the time. Also, why don't we have consistent aftercare? Because in January when I wanted to sign up, you said that you wanted to try taking care of DS after school because with our early start you would get to work earlier. You do not get to complain about this, and how aftercare is now filled. You brought this issue on yourself. Also, if you want to travel, you need to find someone to watch him on those days while I am teaching (I teach until 3:45pm), because you brought this on yourself, I will not be covering. And for pete's sake, feed DS a snack, he is only 5.
We haven't had a date night in ages. The last literally 3 date nights we have had last winter/spring we have ended up going back home for one reason or other. In January or February he wanted to watch the Emmies to see if his coworker's won. Another time the movies were sold out. I forget the other but we ended up taking kiddo to parents night out and then not having a night out.
Well I have been looking forward school starting these up again to this for ages. I even thought I made it clear I wanted to go to a movie over the summer and put DD in a drop in or something, but he ended up misunderstanding and we all went to a movie. Sigh. So this Saturday is the next date night and there are no movies playing that I want to see. "It" maybe but I don't really want to be scared. I suggested an escape game that has a 2 person game (don't want to risk having my broken foot stepped on) and asked DH to book it this morning. He didn't, and now they are sold out for Saturday. So guess what we are going to do? Go home.
So... we decided to go to the AMC dine in theater that is pretty new and see "The Big Sick." I heard an old podcast with Judd Apatow talking about it. I asked DH did he want me to buy tickets, nope I will, you're busy at work. Got a text last night that he waited too long and they are sold out. Damn.

Ugh I'm sorry your date nights keep getting messes up.
He just wants to go home, apparently. He has mentioned that twice, when we first started talking about what to do Saturday (on, like, Monday -- he gets annoyed because I start talking about it so early but that's because it takes days for him to decide and/or stuff sells out), and then mentioned it again when the escape room sold out. He did not mention it when the movie sold out. But that is the default.
The positive is we have a mystery box we can do, but I was hoping to go out. We can do the mystery any time this weekend while kiddo plays with her friends. I'm going to try to suck it up and enjoy it.
Update: We had a date!!! Right before we left, I checked and there were tickets available for that movie we wanted to see, it just isn't a dine in theater (inguess about half there are?). I asked if he still wanted to see it, he said yes, and I bought tickets. IDK if he chose the wrong day or if the website was down that day or what, but we went and saw "The Big Sick." Really good movie! Judd Apatow but not totally over the top like so many of his. It has been out a while. No one has heard of it but it has 98% on rotten tomatoes which is amazing.
We went to a quick dinner first and worked on the mystery, too. It was fun!unfortunately they closed 3 lanes on the interstate and we couldn't get back to pick kiddo up and were 1/2 hour late :/.
