The mattress I've picked out comes in two styles - one is just a basic firm mattress, for $170, and the other is a duel sided mattress with a firm infant side and a less firm toddler side, for $200. Do I need to spend the extra $30, or will E not know the difference since she will have been sleeping on a firm mattress her whole life?
We have the dual mattress for Z, and I don't think I've switched it from the infant side still. I forget it's dual most of the time. I don't think it matters or that she'll notice, personally.
We have... a mattress? Lol, I can't even remember what kind. It fits the crib, and A sleeps, so I haven't heard any complaints about it being too hard or too soft yet.

loira, right? I mean, so much of this baby stuff is just marketing and it's such a pain to wade through what's important.
I'm excited to get her crib set up and see how she sleeps in it. I want to put it in our room because I'm pretty sure she doesn't dig sleeping in the Halo bassinet. She always ends up with her face smashed against the side netting, which makes her wiggle around and grunt. When she started that last night, I took her downstairs to her pack and play bassinet, and she went right to sleep. However, she's almost 15 pounds (or may already be) so she can't stay in the pack and play bassinet much longer, and I'm not looking forward to dropping the mattress down.
I can't even tell you if our has a different style on the other side. I rotate their mattress, but have never flipped it. It could have very well been flipped when we moved though. We have graco cribs and they were the cheapest online at walmart. When I bought them we got a free mattress. I can't even tell you what brand it is but my twins are almost 3 and sleep just fine.

We went with the 2 sided one. The mattress was one of our "splurges" since I wanted an organic one which is probably not necessary, but I was a FTM and figured we'd use this mattress for 2 kids.
Anywhoo....I totally forgot it is even 2 sided and this post was a good reminder that I can probably turn it around soon. So, probably not necessary. LOL.

icedcoffee, I ended up getting the lullaby earth regular mattress (not the 2 sided). Can't wait for it to come to get her bed all set up. Only took me 6 months to do it!!
