I think we'll be joining you estrellita and start potty training soon. I *think* I'm ready, but I'm sure G is ready. I don't want to miss my chance while she is doing so well. She has been using her potty for pooping for a week or so but has only peed in it twice. I want to go three day method I just need to set a date to start. I'm thinking next week when DH starts up at the new job would work.
Lately she is staying up really late and pushing bed time back as much as she can. I'm wondering if I should phase out naps.. but I really don't want her to give them up. I wake her up from naps already so she doesn't sleep too long. I'm hoping having the new swing set will help burn more energy out of her during the day so she will keep napping and sleep at night.
C is moving around constantly. That girl doesn't want to sit still. She is a tricky baby. Sweet, loves to cuddle, doesn't cry much, eats awesome. She also bites, has terrible sleep issues when teething, doesn't like to nap, and is super fast. Lol. It's amazing to see the differences between the two girls. The other night I got a 3 hours stretch of sleep, then she had me up with her for 2 solid hours, then we got another 3 hour stretch of sleep. Ugh baby you are too old for those shenanigans. She just broke through her 8th tooth so I think sleep will be getting better in the next couple of days.
((bk1)) DD always had a rough time with teething. Sleep was hard too. Just recently, she started putting herself to sleep after DS arrived.
DD is talking up a storm. Repeats everything we say. She has started doing some things with me like dancing when I grab her hands...reqlly sweet. I worry sometimes that the PPD I had affected the bond she has with me.
She is full on toddler and won't do things when asked sometimes. It really tests my patience. I'm reading the 123 method....but I've heard she is too young for it now. But DH has also said she is still young. Trying to be patient with her more than anything. She is so sweet and smart...and really is a good girl overall!!!
DS has started smiling at us. It's really sweet. Sometimes his sleep is better for someone his age....and sometimes it's not. He really is such a sweet snuggle bug.

I finally caught one of these in time!
B is now 3! She just started the preschool room at her daycare and is doing well so far. She is a little sponge and picks up on everything. I'm so pleased with her transition to being a big sister. She loves her brother and we really didn't have many issues at all with jealousy. Even though her constant talking and the general lack of listening/tantrums can be tough at times, I really love that she's a little person now and can do so many fun things.
G will be 4 months old on Friday. I am shocked that I am still nursing him. Everything was so, so hard in the beginning with his reflux and MSPI but now that we've made it (hopefully) through all those issues, I don't want to give it up. The diet is really hard for me and I'm losing too much weight but G is thriving so I can't quit. He also refuses to drink the formula he needs. He smiles constantly and is generally pretty content just to hang out. He stinks at night sleep still but generally naps well. Now that he's started daycare he's been so exhausted from that and nights have been extra rough. Hopefully we all adjust soon and can find a more manageable routine where we all get some rest!
Here's a pic from B's 3rd birthday party last weekend- PDQ. *poof*

bk1 GL with PTing! I think E is technically more than ready as he does go 99% of times we put him on the potty. He has pooped on it multiple times, he's just not always great about telling us beforehand. I've gotten better and watching for signs and rushing him to the bathroom instead of letting him tell us if he has to go. He doesn't seem to like to go at daycare though. I keep telling him to let his teachers know if he has to go but he says no. He only goes on the potty there a few times a week at most (just pee). Maybe if they prompt him more instead of just asking if he wants to will help!
Other than that, E is moving up to the preschool room next week full time! I thought they didn't move until about 3 but apparently they can start at 31 months (which E will be this month). He seems to be liking it and the kids he's been with since they were babies are either already up there or moving up the week after.
He talks a LOT! I love having actual conversations with him. He can sing a lot of songs (though he skips parts or some words turn into gibberish) including his ABCs. He's starting to occasionally recognize letters and numbers, though sometimes I think it's a lucky guess, lol.
He does have some pretty epic tantrums which are hard to deal with. He gets to a point where he just SCREAMS and there is no reasoning with him, talking to him, nothing. Multiple times I've had to just stick him in his room and let him scream it out. I'm afraid the neighbors think we're torturing him sometimes!
Other than the tantrums he's a great kid! He is smart and funny, and I just love watching him grow! I'm a little nervous about how things will be when baby girl gets here but.. we'll deal with that then, lol.

C is very sweet 95% of the time. Man though, that other 5 percent is rough. When she's mad she tries to take it out on the dog 😕 by stepping on her tail or hitting her. Super frustrating.
She's been in her toddler bed for a few weeks now and it's going really well. Except when she comes into our room in the middle of the night and wakes us up, like last night.
She's transitioning to no nap, so about 75 percent of the time she doesn't nap. It was going great just having her have quiet time in her room, but lately she won't stay in there which is incredibly frustrating because I can't get much done when she is awake.
She's been potty training for a couple weeks and it's going pretty well. She can hold it and keep her underwear dry, but we have to tell her it's time to use the potty. Although twice today she told me she needed to go, so, progress! She pees and poops on it and is so proud of herself when she poops. If I'm not the one in the bathroom with her, she always calls to me to "come check this out!" Lololol.
Otherwise, she's my fearless, Paw Patrol-obsessed little sweetheart.
bk1estrellita- good luck with potty training! I hope it goes well for you ladies!
C is 2y8m! He is mostly awesome but definitely tests my patience every day, especially with how he is with L (still pushing him over and hitting him when he's frustrated). He talks a ton, sings songs, knows his ABCs and is counting, is pee trained, and is a bundle of love and joy! He is such a mamas boy and loves to cuddle with me! Every day I look at him and am amazed by the little boy that he is (and question where my baby went)!
L will be 1 in 2 weeks! He is amazing! Love him so much and have really enjoyed him more as a baby than I did C (overall he has been easier)! He is crawling, says mama, feeds himself, has earned the nickname "bulldozer" in our home, has the best laugh and smile, loves to cuddle, and pretty much wants whatever C has!
M is three and started preschool and doing great! His SPD is really well controlled at the moment, with the exception of sleeping. He still has a hard time falling asleep and can't sleep all night. He gets up multiple times and it's exhausting. He's had a little stutter for a while but lately it's gotten so difficult for him to speak so I need to figure out if he needs speech therapy, if it is a growth spurt, or an SPD thing. Thankfully he's a hard worker who loves to learn and so self motivated!
S is still the world's sweetest child and going through the 18mo vocabulary explosion. I love her being able to communicate. Thankfully she is the best possible sleeper which helps life function around M's lack thereof. She is oddly showing interest in potty training already but I haven't decided if I should go that direction yet. She's so tiny.
Blue Moon is your daughter super tall? She looks like it. Happy birthday to her
estrellita I feel you in the tantrums. They can be so gruelling, and make me question myself as a parent every single time.

christy082 E is super obsessed with Paw Patrol too! It's like toddler crack. Lol. Also Elsa!
amaranth Ugh, me too. I question myself on why I wanted another kid and have been getting closer and closer to being done after 2! It was always a possibility but I'm not sure I can take 3 kids worth of tantrums, lol (among other things).
E is 25 almost 26 months. He impresses me all the time with what he knows! He knows his ABCs, can count to 12, actually describes pictures in books instead of just saying cow or truck or whatever. He loves to sing but only when he thinks no one is listening. He hates when DH or I sing, lol. His current obsession is cars, trains, airplanes, boats, what have you. If it moves people from one place to another, he loves it. Of course, he is super active, running, jumping and climbing all the time. He is learning golf. He sleeps in a twin bed now, but prefers ours. I'm reading up on potty training, but I don't think he's ready yet. He almost always says no if we ask him to pee or poop on the potty. No problem, still time. I'm thinking maybe Christmas, ish.

Oh, E has been in a twin bed fort a while now. It actually was a much easier transition than I thought it would be! He stays in his bed, although it's covered in pillows, books, stuffed animals, etc so it's hard for him to get out. Ha.
We've had successful poops on the potty the last few nights so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it'll stick!
Jack will be 2.5 this month, and I remain ridiculously in love with this kid. He is so observant and perceptive, and he's becoming an adorable chatterbox. He knows all his shapes and colors, recognizes numbers 0-9, and recognizes about 10 of the letters of the alphabet. He loves to sit on the potty but has never actually gone. I don't think he realizes that's something you can do. He thinks going to the potty just means going to the bathroom and sitting on the toilet, and he's very proud of himself.
Today he asked me where his friend's daddy was. He doesn't actually have one (single mom who used a sperm donor), and I was surprised he had already noticed that. I hadn't thought about an answer to that question yet, so I just said that I don't think he has one, but he has a really awesome mommy and grandparents.Â
He is OBSESSED with Daniel Tiger and loves to kiss his baby brother (my stomach) on an extremely regular basis. Yesterday he told me Daniel Tiger taught him how to hold a baby, and he showed me with his stuffed animal.Â
Sometimes I think he is an old soul. He asked my parents if he could buy me flowers a couple of weeks ago. It's kind of weird, but I love it!

krystee I'm jealous of how sweet J is! I don't know many kids E's age that would even think of buying their mom something. I think you have a lifetime of good birthdays and mother's days to look forward to!
A is going to be 6 months in two weeks. How this time has flown by! Has been sleeping through the night since May, and we think she's currently teething. She's a really good baby! Starting to try to push up on all fours when she's on her stomach.
We've been trying for #2 for 4 months now, and I don't think it's going to happen without IF treatments again.

I love all of these updates! How sweet and smart everyone's babes are! L is 18 months and is starting to say more and more words. He loves Elmo and dances anytime we put on music. He loves to sit on my lap and have me read to him. His 18 month check up was this week and he is so tiny! 8% for height and 10% for weight. He is an excellent sleeper but obviously not a good eater. Any tips on how to wean him??? He only nurses before bed, but sometimes right when I get him from work he tries to rip my shirt off.

rockinrobyn E is a little guy too! He's 26lbs at 2.5 and I think 34 inches? I can't remember. He's been consistently in the 25th percentile for both height and weight until closer to 2 and it started dropping some. He's a super slow eater which I think is a big part of it, plus H was always a super skinny kid. E still wears 18mo shorts sometimes (even with bulky cloth diapers!) but the 18mo pants are too short. Finding pants is difficult!
Post by rockinrobyn on Sept 12, 2017 20:33:16 GMT -5
estrellita YES! Pants are so hard! He is in 12 month pants for waist and 18 month for length and some 18 month tops if they are hand me downs and have been shrunk, but 12 month everything fits ok. So frustrating!

Love all these updates!
R will be 2 next month. What the heck? When did that happen? And worse yet, when did I become the type of person who said stuff like "when did that happen?!" Anyhow, R is my little superstar. Like some of the other toddler mamas mentioned, he is fabulous 90% of the time and tests every limit of my patience 10% of the time (maybe 80/20).
He sleeps well (knock on wood!). He has no interest in potty training. He is obsessed with Elmo and Buzz Lightyear. We must hear those names in our house 20 times a day each. He can identify all of his colors, knows probably about 15 letters, and...one shape (CIRCLE!) Ha! He loves airplanes, dogs, and the beach. He has never been much of a cuddler, but after spending Labor Day week getting spoiled and loved on by my mom at the beach, he has become much more affectionate. I'm loving that.
Love these! I added stuff to begin with but I'm gonna dish a bit more on G since I forgot to before!
G is awesome! She is 2yr7mo. She constantly amazes me with how much she knows. She asks "How are you today?" everyday. She knows all of her letters and can count to 20 with only missing 13. Thanks Sesame Street She is constantly singing and knows more songs then I can count. She usually will let me sing but rarely will let me dance.. lol. She is extremely loving and caring. She is also somewhat shy, doesn't like loud noises, and takes a bit to warm up to new situations. We can carry on full conversations and it's rare that I don't know what she is talking about. I think how verbal she is helps because she doesn't tantrum much. She has been pushing her limits lately and getting sent to time out. Shes a monster kid (95% for height and 90% for weight) and wears 4T in pants and shirts. I have to make sure I buy her shirts long enough even in the 4T!

Love everyone's updates!
R turned 1 last month! He is generally a happy kid and very chill out on public, which makes it easy to take him places. He loves cheese, music, Jeopardy! and pacifiers. He is working on his walking, he took about 8 steps the other night. In our living room we have a sectional sofa that is U-shaped and a round ottoman in the middle...he mostly likes to bounce off the sofa and ottoman like a pinball. It's pretty funny.
He is tall (95%) so I always get comments about how big he is. He says "mama" but about 100 times in a row so it's more like "mamamamamama" and otherwise some general babbling. He loves to "read" his books. He is super observant - he just looks at people and takes it all in. I can't believe how fast he's growing and about every other day I'm saying "where did my baby go?!"
rockinrobyn and estrellita, E is tiny too. 34 inches tall and 25.2 pounds (on our home scale last night) at almost 26 months. He wears 12M in the waist, 18M for length in pants and 24M/2T in shirts because of a Buddha belly he still has. He's like 6th percentile for weight.

DS is 3!!!! Since getting his tubes replaced, having his addenoids removed, and rehoming our cats (he was allergic) we have finally found stability in terms of his health.
He is growing and actually on the chart for the first time in at least 2 years for both height and weight.
His muscle tone issues have greatly improved and he no longer needs orthotics or PT. We are so proud of him.
He has always been a little chatterbox but his language comprehension is pretty astounding. He loves coloring and knows his colors in english and spanish. He is also learning about weather and knows how to say some things about weather in english and spanish. They teach some spanish at daycare. He loves singing and dancing. I am enrolling him in a hip hop class this week.
We are TTC #2 but no success yet as I just started my period.

This is how R is too! 24lbs at almost 24 months. Not sure on height but his legs are short!

Add C to the small list, always has been. He just gained 1-2 lbs and is weighing 27 lbs and around 34 inches at 2y9m. I am now getting asked if the boys are twins on a more regular basis LOL (L has slowed down a little bit he's still big compared to C)
