Are there any breakfast foods you've eaten (from around the world) that you love or that you hate? Is there anything that you WOULDN'T eat that you've come across?
I love pretty much all breakfasts and if was made for me, I'd love savoury stuff every single day. But I won't turn down pancakes or waffles a few times a year.
I hate anything that has the texture of hot cereals, like oatmeal, so congee doesn't do it for me.

Ohh, I love hot cereals, and grits are one of my favorite (and grits are very different than polenta for all the people who tell me I can just substitute polenta), but I'll give almost any hot cereal a try -- though grits are a savory hot cereal while oatmeal, farina and cream of rice definitely fall on the sweeter end for my taste.
I'm not a fan of fish for breakfast, and I don't get the idea of baked beans, sautéed mushrooms, or broiled tomatoes for breakfast, so when I was in Ireland and had a "full Irish breakfast" at the B&B, much of it was left uneaten.

I love Asian hotel breakfast buffet. One of the best things about traveling in Asia. No one particular thing, it's all good everywhere from Japan to Indonesia.
Malaysia might be the best though. I'm very into eating roti cannai and nasi lemak for breakfast.
Basically I love savory breakfast. But unfortunately I don't like eggs so many traditional western breakfasts are out.
Embarrassingly I've never had congee. But why would I eat congee when I can have dim sum? Grits are the only hot cereal/porridge breakfast I like.

And I'm the opposite in that I LOVE the things you hate for breakfast.
I love a good full English, but also love pancakes and waffles, too. Pastries are great as well. I'm not one of those people who HAS to have a bunch of eggs or whatever for breakfast. Some of my favourite breakfasts were good toast, jam and coffee.
My one pet peeve is totally stereotypical, though. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT give me syrup that isn't maple. And I don't care if you say it's maple-flavoured, or whatever. That shit is no good. Unless it's from Québec, or in a pinch Vermont, I will not touch it.

I'm okay with golden syrup, fruit syrups, cane syrup, molasses, or even honey for pancake & waffles, but I agree the fake maple stuff is awful.

Same here! However, I eat hardly anything for breakfast on weekdays besides just a spoon of granola with some yoghurt or just some yoghurt. Weekends I go all out.
I thought that I wouldn't like the breakfast in China but then when I was traveling there I got used to eating "dinner" items for breakfast after 3 days and enjoyed that too. Except for the congee. Did not eat that!
I prefer savoury breakfast foods but will have pastries or jam a few times a year. Sometimes you can't beat a good buttery croissant. I'm unlikely to refuse eggs Benedict or Florentine if that's on offer.
I HATE baked beans and mushy cereals like oatmeal or porridge. The only acceptable way to eat cereal is with really cold milk and quickly enough so that it doesn't lose its crunch.
Breakfast is my most favorite meal of the day. I could eat pretty much anything for breakfast and be happy. Love all the savoury options - dim sum, ham/egg omelettes, noodles, rice, South Indian breakfasts (dosa, idli, vada). I'll have pancakes, waffles, scones with cream/jam, croissants. I can't say no to breakfast - today I had kimchee and pork potstickers. Yesterday, it was idli, coconut chutney and a scrambled egg.

I don't love a full English/Scottish breakfast - not a huge fan of meat first thing. I usually eat porridge with fruit but can be tempted by pancakes or eggs on the weekend.
I loved sushi for breakfast in Japan and hated curry for breakfast in India. I don't love a pastry for breakfast - tends to just make my hyper and then super tired.
