I can't remember any tips, but I wish you luck and speed I just remember moving three times in three months when M was a baby and it was tough. Similar to you guys with the back and forth stuff/house hunting.

((Hugs)). We moved when I was 7 months pregnant and C was 1.5 yo. Obviously, pack what you don't need now and leave all essentials til the end.
We also hired a guy to load and unload with DH (one guy on each end) and coordinated appropriately.
All of C's essentials (pjs, diapers, change of clothes, white noise, monitor, a few toys and books) were with me.
DH loaded and I took C to the new house in hopes of cleaning before he got there. Unfortunately the electricity was not turned on yet (so maybe schedule to have it on the day before or make sure the sellers don't turn it off til you can have it switched?) so I couldn't vacuum, which is what I really wanted to do before furniture was in. I still cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. I also went grocery shopping once we knew the refrigerator was inside and we had electricity. Pizza for dinner.
We set up the kitchen and C's room first and then everything else later. I think we kept most clothes on hangers so it was an easy transfer.
Good luck! Moving with little ones is no fun (well, moving in general...it's just so much harder when you have a baby under foot and that also has needs).
I left clothes in dresser drawers, and everything was moved at once. Clothes on hangers are left on hangers. I either used wardrobe boxes (well worth the money) or I would contain them in large garbage bags, with the hangers sticking out the top, then loop the garbage bag handles over the hangers. I think I'm explaining that badly.

To label our boxes I bought color coded labels off Amazon that had the room names printed on them. Then i took one label for each room and put them on index cards- then i taped them on each room so our movers knew where to put the boxes without having to keep asking us.

That's exactly what we did. Right down to the preprinted colored labels from Amazon.
Any chance you can send the pup to doggy daycare for the day you move in/unload? That was so helpful and I know poor Moo would have been more stressed out and anxious at home with people moving stuff in and out.

I want to but because we are moving to a different city I don't know if that will work. I have to look into doggy daycares in that area.
He will be going to daycare lots between now and when we move. I have already paid for 10 more sessions and we only have 28 days until the move so we will have to use them up. Lol
Thanx for the tips ladies. I am labeling all my boxes with the rooms on them.
pooh8402- we will leave all the clothing in the dressers. That will make things easier for sure.
luv2rn4fun- I called the power company after reading your post, and it's all set up for the day we will move in. (They won't cut the power off they are just going to transfer the power to us.) And all of our essentials will be either with me in my car or DH in his.

Don't forget to check on the other utilities, too. We were surprised to find out that they turn the water off here and we had to schedule to have it turned back on when we moved into our house.

I don't know how I didn't see this before! Sorry!
So I think my tips were actually for staging the house for selling. My moving tips are usually about just getting it done. Like Luv and pooh, I'm all about making sure boxes are ready to go straight into a room, though!
In terms of getting the house ready to move, here is what I remember: 1 - when taking pics off the wall, you can tape the picture hangers/nails to the back of the frame to easily find at the new house. then you don't have to hunt them down or buy all new ones when you are setting up 2 - i set up kitchen and R's room first every time. mainly r's room. i want him to be comfortable and be able to sleep/get back in his routine asap. 3 - wrap vases and other breakables in towels to save on bubble wrap 4 - if you can afford it, it's ALWAYS worth it to me to just pay for a deep clean at the new house before move in. the couple hundred dollars saves you SO MANY HOURS and gives you so much extra time to focus on unloading boxes.

I like what wanderingenough said about wrapping things in towels. Similarly, we used sheets, shirts we didn't care a ton about, blankets, and old tissue paper to wrap things up!

We have a whole bunch of blankets from the trailer that we were going to donate to the SPCA for their pups, but we are going to keep them to put around our bigger furniture to prevent scratches. (Dressers, tv stand, etc)
