Computer Games?

It's online, but Andrew loves abcya.com. They play it at school sometimes, and occasionally I let him play the free version at home.

A's teacher wants them to use abcya but I haven't yet. A doesn't really like computer/ipad games which seems weird lol

Blake has never played on a computer before this year. We have an old shitty laptop, but never use it because we always use our iPads or phones. I have my work computer, but it's a laptop too unless I'm in my office since I have screens and a mouse there.

I may have to start bringing him into work over the weekend to mess around on it. I feel like I failed as a mother because it didn't even occur to me that he would have to know how to use a computer in kindergarten!

Our library has a bunch of computers preloaded with games in the kids section, that might be a good place to figure out what kinds of games she likes?

If you want to try ABC mouse let me know, I am a teacher so I have free access and can set up a student name and password so you can use it free. That is what I did for Ruby. She loves ABC mouse and abcya. You can use the iPad app too.

Do you have a nearby library?  That is the only place A has used a computer.  They have an area with computers for little kids, and they're loaded with lots of educational games.  I took her there this summer because they told us in May when we did a tour of her school to try to get them used to mouses and keyboards and I realized she'd never touched a real computer.

Brady uses our laptop sometimes for pbskids.org. He likes he wild kraits games.   I need to find our mouse for it though but he does okay with the touch mousepad thingy.  Our lap top screen isn't touch screened.  I had a trial for abc mouse that he liked but he only used that on the iPad.

Matilda talks about ABC mouse a lot so I think she likes that one! I guess they have ipads in kindergarten now?? I told her, "back in my day ... we didn't have ANY computers" and she said "what do you mean? no computer or ipad even? but, how did you do school work?"

man it's really a different time these days!
