I hope your dad recovers quickly!

It so damn hot here, I want fall. I hate the heat. Yesterday my van said it was 101 degrees out, I want to wear pants and light sweaters!

No big plans for the weekend, Daniel has a birthday party on Sunday, it's at the kids museum we are members of so we might all go and Alexander can play while Daniel is at the party.

I finished all teamhayes shirts so now I'm moving onto my next projects. First up, a football themed welcome sign for the silent auction at Daniel's school then Christmas ornaments and Santa sacks!

I'm glad your dad is doing better!

B is having a tough time at school this week. He got sent home with behavior checks for not following directions/interrupting/distracting other kids at school every day this week - plus an email from the teacher last night, fell backwards and clocked his head on the blacktop yesterday - big goose egg, no concussion, and peed his pants on the bus ride yesterday afternoon. Then he had a nightmare last night about learning how to make hamburgers at school and was crying that he just can't take anymore learning.

sandj82110 it was so nice and cool at the end of August and beginning of September here, and now it's back in the high 80s. I want to wear my jeans and sweaters too!

ktstorm - I'm so sorry. As you know, we've been struggling here too. It's the worst. And I'm sure you spend all day wondering how he's doing like I do. It sounds like he's just overwhelmed. How long has he been in school now? I feel like there is just so much more learning than in preschool. Could his teachers give me a few extra breaks as he adapts to it?

Today is my Friday this week and I only work two days next week! I could get used to this!

I bought a HUGE pumpkin yesterday to try and get in the fall spirit and it was 90° last night after soccer practice. At 8pm. The last few weeks of cooler weather was just a tease.

blane12 Exactly, when I got the call yesterday I actually thought I was getting a call about behavior before she said it was the nurse. I hate that was my first thought. This is the 3rd week in school. I think breaks would help, but his teacher said she makes sure that they have brain breaks to stretch and move throughout the day so I'm not sure what else she can do. They only have one recess though I had 3 recesses/day until I was in middle school, I can't imagine only one. But, today was better, no behavior check sheet!

How was B's day?

Glad he had no behavior check sheet today!! Blake's school has 2 recesses, but he has missed some of he refuses to work . I swear lately my every free moment at work has been wondering how he's doing and waiting until he gets off the bus to see how he did. It's so stressful. At least you have some open communication with the teacher, and hopefully he will adapt as he keeps pushing through.

Blake had another good day, so we're on 2 days straight. He was so exhausted today though (and is going to bed at 7p every night), so I'm not sure how tomorrow will be.

It's so hard to see your kid struggle.
