Non sticky hair gel. Ds hates dhs because it's too sticky and makes his hair too hard. I get that that's the whole point but is there another option to make his hair stay in place and deal with some amount of 5 yo craziness? School pictures are on a week so Amazon is preferred.

My h uses more of a pomade. It gives his hair style without that hard/wet look.

We have tried and that's even stickier he says. Really I have no idea what I'm even looking for here. . I can do girl hair and I only have sons.

What about mousse? Just a tiny bit to hold it in place?

With DS, who has very thick hair with some curl, we've found that if we put detangling conditioner in it after washing at night, he has less crazy bedhead. Then we just spritz with water and brush, no product needed.

mommyatty, beat me to it. I was going to suggest mousse, but also hairspray might work as well.

This gel isn't sticky. It's not going to give the best hold but works pretty well.

We use that on DS who is 3. It holds great, isn't super sticky or hard, and he loves that he smells like candy all day!
