My temp jumped today, but I’m assuming it’s because I slept in for two extra hours.
I have my SHG tomorrow, and we got DH’s semen analysis back (all looks good but morphology is slightly low).
Good luck tomorrow! I hope the SHG goes great. I advise following whatever directions they gave you for the meds beforehand (mine recommended 800mg ibuprofen). It’s not the worst thing ever but I was glad I took it.

They told me nothing!
Eeesh. I would take 3-4 ibuprofen. It’s pretty uncomfortable and it’s over the counter and totally safe so I can’t imagine it wokos hurt anything.
So, H woke up before me this morning (which rarely ever happens), and decided to sneak out and surprise me with donuts and coffee for breakfast. And he brought home flowers, too. <3

How does it compare to the HSG?
Slightly less painful supposedly. It was definitely unpleasant feeling and I was glad I took the meds, but it wasn’t as unbearable as I have heard the HSGs can be (but I haven’t had one so I don’t have first hand experience.) I cramped and spotted mildly for 2 days afterwards.

Ok, good to know.
I had no problem with the HSG, but I've also had three D&Cs and one live birth, so my uterus is used goods.

Haha. I’m also, how shall I put it, not as experienced with accommodating something as.... robust... as the ultrasound wand, so I’m sure that didn’t help.

I am indulging my sorrows and really awful day 1 cramps by eating junk food and watching trash tv. I am so not prepared to be traveling Tuesday - Friday or trying to fake it with 400 of my closest colleagues all week at our stupid conference.

((Hugs)) hopefully it will be super distracting in a good way.

This when I get a whole lotta calories from wine.
I am supposed to be off alcohol every cycle we do treatments because I can’t swallow spending this much and doing absolutely anything that has even a chance of screwing it up, but I think I’m going to cheat and drink at the conference reception. I don’t think I can get through it otherwise. (Probably flameful lol.)

Does alcohol outside of the TWW really have that much of an impact on anything, though? I vote that drinking is not flameful. Get your drink on!

I recognize it’s probably pointless but my RE did recommend cutting out both alcohol and caffeine both during and outside of the TWW. Her view is that it can’t hurt anything and if you’re spending that much you might as well give it the best shot possible. Caffeine is a bigger issue outside of TWW in her view than alcohol. I’m not a huge drinker of either typically and I agree with her that I want to give it the best shot possible since we are spending our life savings and then some, so it’s what we are doing. I’m comfortable with it, it’s just a little awkward trying to get through social events while pretending to still drink since 98% of my office is pregnant at any given time and the rumors fly fast. The absolute last thing I need is people thinking I’m pregnant, ya know?

seeyalater52, I understand doing everything possible to give yourself the best chance, but I think we can agree that drinking when you're not even in the TWW is not flameful.
I continue to drink caffeine and alcohol in moderation in part because I've been TTC so long that if I behave like I'm pregnant all the time and continue to get BFNs, I will lose it.

No, I didn’t mean the drinking was flameful, just my comment that I couldn’t make it through the conference reception without an alcoholic drink!! I’m so sorry for the misunderstanding, that probably made it sound like I was being a judgemental jerk.
I’ve never heard of alcohol affecting a woman’s ability to get pregnant. What’s the reason?
She said there were studies that showed a correlation between moderate drinking and odds of conception. I don’t know any more than that. I am 100% positive that she told me this because I asked like 50 times if there was anything else I should be doing or supplements I should be taking that could help - it was her “well, not really, but I guess if you really want to be cautious you could do this” bone to my type A control freak self. Add it’s something I do because I can’t stand feeling like there’s nothing I can do or have control over. I really hope I didn’t make it sound like it was necessary or that I was judging anyone who makes a different choice because I really don’t feel that way and neither does my RE. It’s just a personal choice I’m making.

Ah seeyalater52, makes more sense. I didn't think you were being judgy, just hard on yourself.
Jalapeñomel, I don't think they have a proposed mechanism-- just that in IVF studies, women who didn't drink correlated with a slightly higher conception rate. It could be other lifestyle factors, too, so I haven't felt too bogged down by it myself.
