My aunt does have lung cancer. Adenocarcinoma of lung with a lepidic growth pattern. She is supposed to have PET/CT scan to see if what stage it is. We are hoping to go to visit her on Saturday. My parents are going too, and a few other of my dad's siblings will be visiting as well. For all the issues my dad's family can have, they do a pretty good job of "being there" when someone needs it.
my office mate is leaving work 3 hours early today because she was surprised by AF and doesn't have the stuff for it. We have a Walmart and two gas stations, and at least one drug store less than five minutes away. Not in any pain or anything. she also told our boss why she is leaving. I don't think she gets it. She has been working here since the first week of August and I am not sure she has worked a full week once. I am probably being super judgey, but her husband works weekends. I can't figure out why she has to be gone all the time.
DH thinks he is about to lose hearing in his good ear. That would leave him deaf, and because of the kind of hearing loss, without the ability to effectively use hearing aids. He has another appointment in the morning and another in the afternoon. I really hope they can turn this around.
DD can't do algebra and may be moved to a regular class instead of a high school class. If she is, it's with a teacher who physically ran into me at DS's open house, gave me a mean look and went and rocked in a rocking chair for the rest of the event. It was really weird. I introduced myself another day just in case it was just a bad day and she was an outright witch. I don't think I can handle her teaching DD. DS is buddies with her son and asked to invite him to a party and I said no. She's that weird. Uggghhhh.

Is she 12 and it's the first time? Because otherwise, wtf?!

I hope your DH gets better news in the morning. That must be so stressful. I'm sorry.
Random: DH called DD adorable tonight. To which she replied, unprompted... “I’m not adorable, I’m funny! I’m sweet! I’m neat! And sometimes I have stinky feet!”
It reminded me of this thread lol... they’re working on rhyming at school. And she really does get some stank feet.

FWP: I went down to the basement last night to get something out of the kids' toy room (we don't go in there very often during the week) and discovered a bad water leak. Our basement is completely finished (except for the utility room), so all pipes are covered by drywall. It is so bad that the drywall already started to mold. Thankfully we have a plumber coming this morning, but now we might need to have Serve Pro come in to do mold abatement and will definitely need to replace some drywall. Ugh...sometimes I had being a homeowner and an adult.
Covergirl82 - yes I hate being a grown up!! Things like that suck.
DD is dog/house sitting and the pool dropped a foot between Wednesday and Thursday. She stayed over there until 10, and started it this morning. Something clearly went very wrong, but now I am going over every couple hours to check the refill and scoop leaves for ten minutes. It's crazy and it's not even OUR pool!!

We had soccer practice again last night. The behavior of some of the kids was completely terrible. I would expect that if there was a lot of waiting around, but i truly tried to structure things so that didn't happen, b/c I TOTALLY get that kindergarten boys be crazy AF. Never again.
DH can hear again in his good ear. He had two dog hairs on his eardrum that they removed. He already didn't really care for the dog -- now he is even more dubious. The dog has a UTI and surgery would be the fastest remedy - but at 1K we were waffling. We are trying meds to dissolve her stones now....
He has a fitting appointment for the two possible hearing solutions this afternoon. He just told me he wanted me to come. We have two of our kids and one of their friends and no sitter - plus work - so that's a no. Ugh.
I just got called out by another manager because her team didn't know I had changed some content on our website. I changed it A YEAR AGO. And the stuff isn't even gone, it's just moved because we had conflicting info in two places. How is it my fault that you never noticed and have been telling people the wrong thing all this time?
