How long will your 5 year old walk before getting winey and wanting to be carried or ride in a stroller? Do you take a stroller to places like the zoo or outdoor day festivals?
L is winey within 5 minutes of walking and will fight the 3 year old for the stroller. The both cramp in it and I feel like L is being ridiculous and needs to grow up a bit. I wonder if I’m being harsh. Yeasterday we walked 2.5 miles and he probably walked less than a mile.

Adeline was a whiner for so long. But she's so much better now. She did all of HersheyPark (12hrs) before trying to give up in the parking lot. She's 65lbs and I couldn't carry her. But she said her feet were burning and I'm sure they were!

DD is 5. We hike a lot and her record is four miles. I wouldn't say they were whine free, but I know she CAN do it. We don't take a stroller to the zoo, but we are planning to take one to Disney. She's only 38 pounds, but she still gets heavy after a while.
B whines all the time, but we make him walk anyway. We did a bunch of 4+ mile hikes this summer and he was fine, just needed frequent snacks. E walks most of the time too because he doesn't like the stroller, and I keep forgetting the Ergo.
She whines a lot, it’s painful lol. I’m trying to make her push though. She reminds me a lot of my sister and I was a bummer growing up we didn’t hike and whatnot because all she’d do is wine, I’m really hoping A will outgrow it. We went to the zoo last weekend, and she whined the entire first hour. She finally stopped after that and had a good time. She lasted maybe 4 hours there.

He's lazy and will always ride in the stroller if we let him. He still easily fits in the stroller (city select) but he also looks a little ridiculous (in my mind) because he's 5.5! I'm contemplating selling my city select and getting a keenz stroller/wagon thingy. It's $$ but I feel like we would get a decent amount of use out of it. I hate pulling the wagon but this is a wagon you can push, that I'm willing to do!

Well she doesn't have another option but to walk but yes sometimes she gets whiny and dh will put her on his shoulders for 10 minutes. She walked at Legoland last December and we were there all day. We do try to stop for snacks and breaks if we are somewhere like that so she can rest.
I don't have a car so my kids are used to walking everywhere. He does still whine occasionally but I just let him whine. We take his scooter most places which eliminates any issues.
My kid does not walk that much...she definitely whines. We walk to the park and stuff but if it was a zoo or something I would bring the stroller or wagon if we're gonna be walking a lot bc it's a fight and she wants me to carry her. MH thinks we should make her walk but she will usually just sit down and refuse to move and she's too heavy for me to carry far.
I stopped using the stoller at HersheyPark two years ago. That was the only place I used it, probably stopped for other things a year prior to that. We have season passes and go often. Kalvin has low muscle tone and can handle it. Katelyn will say she has short little legs and can't go fast but we don't carry. They power through. People think we are nuts for not even thinking of renting a stroller at Disney.

Depends where we are/what we're doing. Hiking she hates and complains 5 minutes in. But amusement park where she stops to wait in line for a ride every few minutes, she's fine. She's so little we bring the double stroller to places like the zoo or whatever. But if we are going to the mall or walking around our downtown area with shops and the library only Logan gets the little umbrella stroller and she walks.

We haven't used a stroller with him in years although we don't hike so I'm not sure if that would change things. We'd probably use one if we were at disney or something, jic.
We rarely walk anywhere, so I guess I don’t know. We don’t own a stroller anymore, but rent one at zoos, etc. They usually end up hauling our “stuff” instead of the child, but it’s handy just in case.
I only take a sit and stand to the zoo and she knows she can go on and off it. We went to marineland in the summer with just the single (Andrew rode in it) and she was fine.
