Idk where exactly you live but I've been thinking of you and hoping you and yours are alright during these fires.

Hi! We moved further south last year so not near the fire. just dealing with smoke and ash - not in any imminent danger. Thanks for checking. Many of my close friends are in the wine and food industry so the losses of homes and businesses of our close friends is staggering. We’ve opened our home up to anyone who needs a place to stay or just take a long, hot shower. The destruction up there can not be comprehended. My cousin was three miles away from the fire line and ready to evacuate last we spoke.

Our kids are on break this past week and one of DS1’s classmates literally saw glowing embers outside her window before she went to bed and alerted her parents. They made it out with fire chasing them out.

Jillyjillstr - can’t remember her exact name on the bump but I think you would remember her is from wine country and is safe. Her father lost his home but nobody hurt.

Thanks for checking in, gastro . I can't imagine how horrible and scary it must be for everyone in that area. They have been and will continue to be in my thoughts.
