I have to bring my best suit to a meeting this week. I want to just have a carry on suitcase. Any tips on how to pack it so I don't have major wrinkle and crease issues when I arrive? I'm ok with a bit of ironing but I don't want to really mess it up. Thanks in advance for your tips!
My brother, career army who irons tshirts swears by rolling. I have not yet mastered his skills, but it does seem to cut the wrinkles. +1 for carryon when possible.
I roll my suit pants or skirts, then just fold my jacket in half, arms together, then in half again, this time pulling the bottom of the jacket up to the collar. Put them on top! For me, that's the difference between wrinkled and unwrinkled.
I've knock on wood never had an issue with suits wrinkling. I pack them so that the top of the collar is aligned to the longest edge of the suitcase regardless of where the hanger hooks are. I fold the sleeves in at the shoulder then fold it in half from the bottom up toward the collar. There is just more room and less folding to pack it this way instead of the more intuitive to me long ways top to bottom.
Same as 2chatter - I don't do anything special and haven't had an issue with wrinkling. I hang it up when I get to hotel and if necessary use the in room iron - but not often.
