I just left this schedule. The pro is that because you don’t come in on Fridays at all, you can’t end up staying late. The con is the days are long, plus your commute, is hard on having kids, pets, working in gym time, being home for dinner. If you can work from home 2 days a week it might not be as big of a deal. With kids I prefer and every other Friday schedule and a slightly shorter day.

I do and my boyfriend does. Well, my schedule varies a lot, but for the most part it's 4-10s.
Pros: extra day off. This is HUGE. It's so nice to have a weekday off.
Cons: long days. Especially in the winter when you go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. Hard on pets (no kids but I imagine that would be hard too). Some days it's hard to come up with ten hours of stuff to do so I feel like I waste time at work sometimes. This makes the day drag.
If I could work from home two days I would be the happiest person on the planet.
I was able to do it one week a month at my old job. Loved the day off but as others said, they were LONG days and I was so exhausted that my day off was spent sleeping and making up all that I couldn’t do all week. Perhaps because it wasn’t every week, it was more exhausting.
I do, but we only have to work 37.5 hours, so I work three 9.5 hour days and one 9 hour day in the week. It is so nice to have one day a week where I can get things done that isn't the weekend. In the summer, the kids and I have one full day to spend at the pool or do other fun stuff. I make most of our appointments on those days so I don't have to worry about going in late/leaving early for doctor's appointments. I really enjoy this schedule, and I think it would be even better if 2 of the days were at home. The longer time at work does take it's toll...I come in very early, so I can still leave at a decent time, so I can't stay up much past 9:30 or 10.

I do but primarily work from home. I love it because although the days are long, a commute for me would make my days be ten hour days anyways. However, when I have to go into the office to train new hires or have meetings, I am wiped out by the time I get home. The pros for me are not having to take PTO for appointments and getting errands done during the week so my weekends are free. Beyond wearing yoga pants while I work it has saved us money (lunches, gas, tolls, work clothes, etc.).

I do but am only in the office 8 hours each day. I work an hour in the morning before the kids get up and an hour after bedtime. I can work a full day at home if needed. For me, it's ideal but it can be difficult to find "me" time on work days so it can feel a little draining at times. The extra day off is nice and saves on daycare costs. Once they are in school I will probably switch back to 5 8's.

Lurker here. I do. My day off varies, but it's so great to have a weekday off. I used to work 5 days a week for many years so the slightly longer day took a bit to get used to, but it's totally worth it.

I work four 8.5/9 hr days. I’m considered full time and fully benefited at 30 hrs and I have a very long commute so I do about 34 or so hours per week for four days. I do work Saturdays though so I get Sunday Monday Tuesday off.
Pro is three days off but still full time Con is the four days I do work I bring the younger two to school at 805, after getting up at 6 to get it s all ready, then drive to work long commute then work then drive long home so I’m gone like 8 am until about 730pm on workdays so there’s no time to do anything at all on my work days.
I hate working Saturdays but having three days off is nice kind of makes up for it.
This is my schedule in the summers. I love it! Biggest pro is that extra day off to get stuff done. Things I'd normally do on Sunday like grocery shop or laundry, I can do Friday and then lounge.
Con is getting up early. I'm suppose to be there at 7, and that rarely happens. I also feel like I need to go to bed by 9 to get enough sleep. I'm pretty zonked out mon-thurs.
I do, but we only have to work 37.5 hours, so I work three 9.5 hour days and one 9 hour day in the week.
I do this as well. I LOVE having Fridays off. This week, my assistant needed Friday off, so I am working a traditional 5 day schedule and I am already sad about it. Only working 4 days makes the week fly by.
I work from 7-5:30 (5 on Thursday) - my commute coming into work is a dream, no traffic! My commute home is not great, but that is the case anytime after 3pm, so meh.
It is a little harder to do stuff after work, I want to just be a bum and lounge, but I have found that you just need to get out of that mindset and do what needs to be done - but I think your hours would effect that (if you were staying until 7, then that may not be the case).
I also have no kids or spouse, so I have less commitments. I have a pup, but he is awesome and doesn't have accidents and can hold it for the 11 hours that he is home.
One con is that I want to do fun things on Fridays, but everyone else has to work.

I do. I've worked it for about 2.5 years with Mondays off. I'm a Fed so it's allowed for a lot of extra long weekends due to Federal Holidays which has been an added bonus.
The days are long and I'm usually pretty spent by Friday but I really love having Mondays off. I'm going back to 5 day weeks next pay period but only temporarily due to school stuff with the girls and H's recent surgery which is making mornings tough for him to manage on his own. I currently work 6-4:30 but will be changing to 9-5:30 for a bit.
Having three day weekends is so great..... We moved the week after school got out so summer was pure chaos with trying to get settled and not having a day to myself since the girls weren't in school - I forgot how peaceful my Mondays are until they started back up!
I almost have that schedule, but it’s only every other Friday off. I work 9 hours Mon-Thurs and 8 hours on the other Fridays. I used to work much longer days at my old job, so this schedule has been AWESOME for me.
I do a lot more fun things on my days off. And I’m happy to have a bunch of 4 day weekends when the holidays come around.
Sort of. I work 6am-4pm (with a 1 hour lunch) Monday through Thursday and 6a-10a on Fridays. I work from home on Fridays, so I generally don't do a lot after my 8am team meeting.
I really love my schedule. But I come from a restaurant background where long days are the norm, so working a lot of hours in a row has never bothered me.
I should use my Fridays to get stuff done around the house and grocery shop, but I usually end up spending the day watching tv and relaxing. It works well for me and sets me up for being a little busier on the weekend. Regardless, it's great to have what is essentially an extra full day every weekend.
My husband did it for decades and it was great.he could use Mondays for anything like doctor appointments, banking (back when you ended to actually go to the bank) etc. When we went camping in the summer we would take long weekends since I was off and he didn't have to take Mondays off.
But almost all things kid related fell on me. After we had our 3rd (I also work FT) I couldn't do it anymore bc we were entering the world of extracurriculars.
I did this for two years and came to hate it. 10 hour shift plus an hour long lunch, plus a 30 minute commute. I felt like all I did M-Th was get up, get ready for work, gonto work, come home and sleep. My "extra" day off was primarily spent catching up on the laundry and housework I was neglecting throughout the week.
