DH and I had a very lazy weekend! Besides cooking for and going to a party on Saturday, we pretty much binge-watched The Americans (season 3) while cuddling on the couch all weekend. It was lovely, but then I had to stay up late to finish work that I didn't do the rest of the weekend. It was totally worth it, though...it has been a while since DH and I had a lazy weekend together!
Long...lol! I was on call Friday night and Saturday during the day. I had four calls and worked close to 11 hours between those two shifts. One suicide attempt, one accidental overdose of pain meds, one meth-ed out dude and one guy with dementia who showed me his penis lol. I was wiped out. Yesterday, I went to church and then to a brunch to talk to a young lady about social work jobs as she's considering going into the field. Then went to a friend's house where he put new brakes on DD's car. Then I laid on my couch and whined about being cold! Real exciting weekend!
I worked late on Friday, then grabbed drinks at a nearby bar. Saturday, I worked for 4 hours then I met up with friends for dinner and the art show. We walked almost 8 miles Saturday night! Sunday I bummed around.
Today is going to be weird. We ran out of work to do and have to wait for the file at 11.
Friday went to a local brewery before the hockey game. The bartender put a little cold brew coffee in my glad before adding a coffee pale ale (made with the same coffee) and it was really good. The game was fun, even though we lost.
Saturday morning date was just okay. We met for coffee at 9:30 and when it was almost 11 he asked if I was hungry, then suggested a local bar to eat in. I'm not a day drinker at all and I got to hear about how much more full the bar would've been if he were in his old city because everyone day drank there. As I'm nursing my glass of rosé because I really would've preferred more coffee or some water. He talked a lot about college football and had trouble coming up with any other interests. So, next.
Sunday evening was a friend's housewarming and birthday party. It was really nice and fairly low key.
Yesterday I got a manicure and did laundry. In between, while letting my nails dry, I hung out at a coffee shop and read a novella by one of my favorite authors.
Saturday I went to yoga, M and I went pumpkin picking (It was SO HOT. Not at all fall-like), and then M went out in the evening and I had a much-needed quiet evening.
Sunday I went to ride a horse that's for sale. It was OK. I didn't hear any angels sing or anything, but he was a pretty good horse. I'm waiting for my trainer to let me know when she has time for a 3 hour road trip to go see another one.
Friday night I stayed in. Saturday I ran a bunch of errands during the day and then attended a breast cancer benefit in the evening. The event was SO fun. It was a wine tasting with a silent auction. I bid on two trips and got them both. One is three nights in a cabin in NC and the other is 4 nights in a cabin on the water in Gloucester, MA. I want to take the Gloucester trip like right this second.
Sunday I literally sat on the couch in my pjs all.day.long. I showered only to put on clean pjs. I binge watched Lost. I probably got through 6 episodes.

I didn't do a whole lot this weekend. I have a crappy cold and it was raining most of the time. DD and I just hung out at home for the most part and ran a few errands. We also did her class birthday favors - they aren't allowed to bring food treats. And now we're done with them two weeks early. Woohoo! I feel so on top of things for once in my life!

My favorite food truck was here today! I got a smoked turkey panini with herbed cheese, sweet potato puree, and cranberry relish. It was yummy! But then again, I've never had a bad meal from that truck.

Weekend was good. Went to a comedy show on Friday night, laid low and did some work on Saturday, then hung out with friends Saturday night. I had a little too much to drink on Saturday night, so Sunday was a lazy day but I managed to get a little bit of work done that day too. All in all, it was productive, relaxing, and fun. My kind of weekend!
The weekend was pretty good. I went to a play on friday night but the night ended with two flat tires. We spent some of saturday fixing that. But got to have pho and catch up time with my mom, which was nice.
Sunday was errands and trying to get a diagnosis for this painful rash on my chest and side. It's itchy and hurts and keeps spreading.
Finally got to a clinic today since yesterday's spots were booked. The diagnosis? Shingles!

As soon as you said painful rash on your chest I knew what you had I'm so sorry - I've had it 3x now, and it's stress-induced. Did they start you on the steroids? That really helps mine clear up.

Yes, I'll be picking up a script after work. I just read that it's caused by stress, too. makes sense.
I'm sorry you've had it three times! Yikes. Can you tell when it starts to happen?

Yep! It's a prickling, itchy pain and the faintest red spot that I know will turn into the full blown rash.
EVERY TIME I get it, I go straight to the ER and tell them I have shingles. They laugh and tell me it's not possible, I lift up my shirt, they go "oh wow, you do have shingles!". They're not used to seeing people our age get it. (I was 9 when I first got shingles).
I usually get the steroid shot in the ass at the ER, and then they send me home with the script for another week-10 days.

There's a vaccine against it now...I don't know if it's only effective before having had full-blown shingles or not, though. Might be something to look into!

It's a live vaccine, so no doctor can tell me what might happen if they give it to someone already prone to shingles
Chickenpox landed me in NICU when I was born, so clearly this virus just knows how to kick my ass.

Oh, darn. Yeah, probably better to just try to avoid triggers as much as possible, then.
