Good education conferences??

I've been to two workshops led by Learning and the Brain, both of which were awesome. I went to a week-long institute on motivation and resiliency this summer.

My other favorite / most useful conference ever was a workshop led by Marzano Research. The one I went to was on standards-based assessment. It completely changed the way I teach. It's one of the few times I've left a conference with the ability to actually implement something useful.

Whatever you do, do NOT spend your money on anything from The Bureau of Education Research.

I'm curious why you don't like BER? I went to one of their one day workshops on guided reading last year and it was really informative.

I’ve been to two/- one on tech that was basically a weekend of Google Drive and one on differentiation that was a day or really awful PowerPoint presentations. Small set of data, but I won’t try them again.

Totally get it. I've been to some horrible conferences and workshops before where I won't go back to that presenter if I can avoid it.
