NY&C0. I will always throw that suggestion out. They are amazing for pants--short, medium, long in length, sizes 00-20, at least 3 different fits. LOTS of colors.

I have a large butt and hips. All my work pants are from banana republic. I sized up in the sloan, and I think my longer trouser style pants are the Logan (which used to be a different name, maybe jackson).
I've basically just carried over the skirts and dresses over by adding leggings and tights under. But when I do dig out the dress pants for work, I only wear APT 9 from Kohls or Worthington from JCP. Curvy fit, size 12. I'm 5'6".
I have a similar build and am generally very happy with my NY&Co pants. They can be a little bit or miss depending on the fabric, so don't get discouraged if you don't love the first pair.
I haven't bought any in awhile, but I have some pants that are at least 8 years old that I still wear from time to time. They are like dressy yoga pants with no zipper. I LOVED them when I was working because I worked with kids and sat on the floor most of the time, and they were like wearing pajama pants, but looked like semi-casual pants (I could wear with a blouse but not a jacket).

I basically wore skirts/dresses when I lived in Boston and just upped my tights game. I carry my weight in my belly and butt which did not work with pants. I think even now I own one pair of pants and I wear them once a year at most.
has anyone tried Betabrand? I'm figuring that yoga type material may be more forgiving than some of the knits? Maybe?
Yes! The straight leg travel yoga pants (which have a higher rise) have been my work pants solution for the first 5-6 months of pregnancy and post-partum this year. I am also a 10/12 and wear size L. A friend also has the dress pant yoga pants and the material is great. I will probably try those next.
I've had luck with the curvy fit Merona brand from Target, but i think they have been discontinued. There was a post not too long ago about this- I think it was about Lane Bryant pants.
I don’t think the OP is big enough for their sizing though. They usually run 16+.
I think it depends on the type of pants re: Lane Bryant sizing. The Lane Bryant pants in the "best pants ever" post start at size 10/12.
Lane Bryant starts at 12 but every pair of pants I've tried on have looked boxy. It's not a great look for a tall woman.
I've had some luck at Ashley Stewert when I can find things that I like the look.
I've had more luck at Dress Barn and all my slacks from there came with real pockets as a huge bonus.
Some of my best finds have been good old department stores though. I have several pants that lasted over a decade purchased at Macy's. One of my favorite skirts came from JC Penny. My suit pieces came from Sears. I feel like a grandmother shopping there but I don't let feelings control where I shop.
